We stayed at the CBR Jan. 2-6. Wish we could of stayed longer! Arrived at check-in time (3 pm). I had already checked in on line and was surprised to find a line but it moved pretty quickly. Requested Martinique or Jamaica on-line and got Martinique. The location of our room was perfect! We were on the 2nd floor over looking the beach/lake. We were not too far from Port Royale either. Enjoyed relaxing in a hammock and ate dinner at the food court on first night there. My only complaint was that we weren't able to enjoy the resort b/c it was a short trip and all of our time was spent at the parks. Would of loved to have had a day to relax and enjoy all of the amenities that CBR has to offer.

Pros:

view from room, landscaping, comfy beds, price

Cons:

none

We stayed January 17-21, 2013. We were happy with our overall experience at Caribbean Beach Resort. The negatives are I paid extra for a water room and we could only see the water if we walked outside, I felt it was a waste of money for the upgrade. We could hear the toilet flush in the rooms beside us, and could hear outside noise. There was a big gap between the door and wall when door was closed. I guess our room was booked on the day we left because we had 3 people try to get in and clean starting before 8 am, that was aggravating since we were trying to sleep in a little bit. My girls loved the pool, it is heated so was nice to swim in January
The beds are small. Plan to walk a lot if staying here. It takes at least 10 minutes to walk to get drinks, snacks. The rooms were clean. Nice place I think we will try another place next time.

Pros:

Beautiful scenery

Cons:

Noisy

We returned to the Caribbean Beach Resort for an 8 night stay January 4 - 12, 2013 after being away for several years. We love this resort but the cost has kept us away recently. I am so glad that we got a great discount and were able to come back! Our room was in Jamaica building 45 where we had not stayed before and it was very close to both the foot bridge to Old Port Royal and the bus stop and parking lot. while not a preferred room, we were very close to the beach and just had to walk out our door and turn a corner to see the lake. Absolutely beautiful grounds and courtyards with tables and chairs. Our room was very nice. Two small things that were bothersome; first, there was evident signs of wear and tear on the air conditioning/heating units and the covers for the curtains, rusty spots and a little mold; second, the mattresses were very lumpy and need replacement. We might have gotten the bad luck of the draw in that one as in the past we have not had that complaint. While I am on that subject, the Caribbean Beach Resort is the only Moderate property to still have full size beds. I believe they have the largest square footage of any Moderate Resort, so they should easily be able to fit 2 queen size beds in the rooms. Mousekeeping was excellent. We had no towel animals, but she dusted, vacuumed and cleaned the floor, toilet and bath area extremely thoroughly every day and with the exception of one day, our room was made up by lunchtime every day when we would go back for our break. By the way, I love the new toiletries! The light citrus scent is very pleasant without being overwhelming. The only real complaint I had with the room was the noise form outside. every time someone walked by it was loud and we could hear the stomping of feet! The food court areas was kept clean and well stocked. The prices are a little steep for the quantity of food, but no worse than what you pay in the parks. The best deal by far is the pizza. The all you can drink mugs have also gotten very pricey, but in my son's case it would be worth it as he drinks what seems to be a gallon of soda every day! My largest complaint about teh food court is that you have to go through two lines, one to order and pick up your food and a separate one to pay. I liked it better when you payed at the ordering area. Also, they start shutting down the soda fountains much earlier than the food court closes. Many nights we would get back from the park and want a drink only to find that the soda fountains were taped over and only one was available. In some cases, even that one was low or out of certain soda types. The food court itself closes at 10:00 (or 11:00 in some seasons). This makes it very difficult if you want to stop for a snack when getting home from the parks. Would I recommend the Caribbean Beach Resort? Absolutely! Will we return? Yes if the price is right.

Pros:

location and beatutiful grounds

Cons:

food court closes too early; matresses need to be replaced; room was noisy

I stayed Feb 15-17th and let me tell you I couldn't wait to leave. We got checked in and took the walk to Aruba building 55 and everything looked nice and maintained. Once we got in the room it was a different story. First thing I did was flip back the sheets and you could tell the sheets were not washed from the previous person. Still had the marks from the spot they slept in and lots of hair and food crumbs. Checked the other bed and it was ok. There was still food all over the floor so you know it was not vacuumed at all. There was still hair all over the bathtub so again not cleaned. Dead bugs in the sink and around the edges. Mustard on the wall and head board. Kleenex on the side of the bed. Cookie crumbs all over the air conditioner. We got in late so we just had to deal with it until morning. We called the manager and he said the manager of mousekeeping would clean the room when we were out for the day. Got back to the room and the carpet and sheets were addressed but nothing else. Instead of moving to a new room we just dealt with it and won't be staying there again. These really need the updating like at Coronado Springs with the queen beds, paint, carpet and furnishings.
Hope you have better luck.

Pros:

Grounds and main pool are nice

Cons:

Room was very dirty

We stayed in a preferred room in Martinique for 4 nights. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Our room was very clean, and upon request, mousekeeping left my children little towel animals. The poolside entertainment and games were great along with the evening camp fires and movies. The main feature pool was down for a day and a half but the staff went out of their way to get it fixed and opened as soon as possible. The beaches are so relaxing and offer the kids a chance to play in the sand. The main feature pool area has a play area for tots, a great pool with slides and 2 jacuzzis for the older kids. The only downside of the resort is the food court. Even with a preferred room, it was quite a walk to refill our drink mugs. And, the food court is broken down into different ordering areas (burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, healthy options). So, one family may have to go stand in line in 2 or 3 places to get food for each family member, then stand in yet another line to pay. Very inconvenient method and the food quality was not that good at all. Bus service was prompt and friendly.

Pros:

Beaches and Pool

Cons:

Food Court

Overall we loved our room. We stayed in the pirate room in Trinidad south. We stayed from Feb. 18th until the 22nd. The room was clean and the housekeeper did a wonderful job. Since I used to clean rooms when I was younger, I made sure we tipped our housekeeper everyday. The front desk left us a message the night before giving us details about leaving. He forgot to tell us we need to drop off our luggage at least an hour before Disney Magical Express bus was to pick us up. Then the bellhop told us it is really 3 hours. We are planning to come back to Disney in December but will probably stay at the Contemporary Resort. The quick service options are healthier and better there, they have a cool bar and you can jump on the monorail to get to the Magic Kingdom.

Pros:

Clean rooms and property was nice

Cons:

Huge property and no real bar

We booked our reservation for February 2013 way back in Septtember 2012. We usually stay at a value resort, but decided to splurge because my grandson loves pirates. We chose this resort b/c of the pirate rooms and were told we would have one.

When we arrived Feb. 9th, we were told we had been moved. The manager admitted to overbooking and we were stuck with a regular room. Extremely disappointing to a six year old!. He said MAYBE we could move in a couple of days IF a pirate room became available. Who wants to unpack and repack (we were staying for a week.)

The next day my daughter went to iron some clothes. The iron poured water all over the clothes. We called for a new iron. A hair dryer was delivered. Turned out we needed a new one of those too - so my son-in-law said he would install it himself.

We called for the iron. Housekeeping was rude and said they already delivered it. We said no, it was a hair dryer. Thirty minutes later, still no dryer. Called again. We finally received an iron.

The bus service is not great and we had to wait over an hour for a bus to Downtown Disney one evening where we had dinner reservations. Barely made it in time!

When checking out, had to deal once more with a rather rude employee!

We will return to Disney b/c we love the parks, but will stay in a Value Resort instead -- we have found the employees at the Value Resorts to be much more friendly and helpful.

Our room itself was pretty clean, but, again, the service left a great deal to be desired.

Pros:

Beautiful location

Cons:

Very poor service

This year we visited earlier than usual, at the beginning of March. We were prepared for cold weather which we experienced the first few days, but things warmed up quickly.

Caribbean Beach Resort was amazing as usual. The warm atmosphere helped ease the cool weather. We arrived off the Magical Express bus before noon, and our room was ready! This was wonderful, letting us freshen up a bit before hitting the parks. We grabbed some lunch a Old Port Royale and got going.

Our room in bldg. 33 was clean and just what we wanted. We like the 2nd floor for the quiet with no one above us. Our room faced the bus stop, which was quite convenient. We heard the bus noise occasionally from our room, but nothing bothersome. The mousekeeping staff happened to be just down the corridor when we got to the room so they came and introduced themselves, and showed us how to use the new tap system for the room keys. We had no problems with these new keys at all during our whole stay. They really are quite neat. They can be used for your dining plan if you're participating in it.

The staff at the Banana Cabana is top notch and that's one reason we return year after year. They, along with all the other staff at the resort make you feel comfortable and right at home.

The pools were busy every day, even on cooler days, as they are heated. We used the hot tubs a lot. We would suggest more lounge chairs or tables and chairs at the tub that is closest to bldg 31.

Other than that small issue, we have none. Everyone complains how large and spread out this resort is, but we usually pay a little more to stay in a preferred room to be closer to the food court area. Its well worth it. We like the covered bus stop areas, as the last time we stayed at a value resort, the stops were out in the open exposed to the hot sun and the rain. We don't mind the fact that there are several stops because if there were only 1 or 2, there would be waaaaaay too many people, kids and strollers, and scooters to board at once. Caribbean Beach is also centrally located which makes for short bus rides. I did notice this trip that on several days there was a staff member at a couple of bus stops keeping track of times between bus arrivals. Great to know they're keeping on top of this.

Can't wait to go back to CB on our next trip.

Pros:

our favorite resort

Stayed in a Pirate Room in Trinidad - kids LOVED it. I don't think either one took a breath or had a heartbeat for about 10 minutes- no detail was missed. Only negative (and the reason I gave this resort a 9 instead of 10) is the rooms are so far from the pool, dining, etc. You would think - Pirate themed rooms would attract families w/ young kids (who can find walking a challenge) - and Disney puts these areas at the furthest points in the Resort... hmmm.

That said - lovely resort and the family wants to return immediately. Staff was kind & friendly, quick service food wasn't stellar but can't complain - was fine, had an issue w/ a game and they responded quite well!! Bus service to Parks was good despite the Spring Break crowds.

Would recommend this resort to anyone wanting the fun tropical feel while in the heart of Disney.

Pros:

wonderful theming

Cons:

too large for young children to walk btwn buildings

We stayed here April 3-10 2013. Previous stays had been at Pop Century. The rooms at Caribbean are larger than Pop and much quieter. When we arrived we were in the middle of a full blown spring break yet we were able to eat with ease at the Port Royal and the bus service was always timely and not overcrowded. We never waited for longer than 15 minutes for a bus to/from the 4 parks.

I would definitely recommend the preferred rooms and stay in Trinidad North as you are close enough to every thing but isolated enough that the area is quiet.

Pros:

Very quiet area, nice "tropical" setting, good size rooms, Port Royale not overly crowded

Cons:

Showing its age, long walks for nonpreferred rooms
