We stayed here in October. We were very disappointed. The curtains in our room wouldn’t close all the way. Maintenance came and just pinched the two sides together with one of the room’s clothes hangers. So, for the duration of our trip we had a hanger holding our curtains together (super classy). There were no luggage racks so the only place for suitcases was on the floor. They only provided one bar of soap for the room. When we would try to call housekeeping, the call would go unanswered. The coffee machine in the food court was broken and there was never any ice in the ice machines.

Pros:

First pick up and drop off for the busses.

Cons:

Room amenities, service, cast member helpfulness, food court choices, bus lines.

A decent value considering the perks (like buses) that you get. Went in 2019 in summer with my (broke) college friends and a few things weren't working in our room. Like a light switch was really finicky. Just a REALLY basic room meant for only sleeping in. When you spend most of your time at the parks like us college kids do though, it's okay I guess. We are going to opt to spend a little more this year when we go to WDW to stay at a nicer hotel.

Pros:

Affordable for broke college kids.

Cons:

Room to sleep in, nothing more.

Worst hotel! Never again. My husband, son, and I all got bead bug bites all over! The staff came out and agreed that we had bed bugs. They offered to change the sheets while we were at the park that day but no apology or anything. So disappointed!

Pros:

Inexpensive, fun theming for a sports person, food court was good

Cons:

Old!!! Bed bugs!!

Would not stay here again! We booked a preferred room for 4 nights and actually had to check out a day early and change hotels. The beds were terrible and by the 2nd night our backs were hurting so bad. We opted out of the maid service and they said we would receive a gift card but the maid came in the room the next day and we never received the gift card. I also stopped by the front desk on the first night and told them that we didn't have a car so we wouldn't get charged. The cast member asked if we came by boat (in a rude way) and I told her that my daughter's boyfriend had dropped us off. However, we got charged for parking each night and had to go back to the front desk to have the charges removed.

Pros:

Small bus stop and good bus service. Small property and within walking distance to All Star Music and All Star Movies.

Cons:

The beds and the service

We were here in October for 4 nights and had requested a room close to the center walkway of the resort to try and keep it simple for an elderly member of our party. We also did on-line check-in. They put us in a room as far to the back as possible and facing the weeds and cars. Elderly person was so confused trying to find this room after going to the food court. They told us that not only are the surf buildings preferred locations (which we didn't want due to the noise), but also the football buildings are now preferred. I was in the football building during another stay and was kept awake all night from delivery trucks, so I wouldn't prefer that building either. They also said the computer assigns the rooms and doesn't read your preference so I will never do on-line check-in again. Aside from the miserable location for the room, the mattress was so soft we woke up with horrible back aches each morning and the pillows were so flat, it took 3 to feel like we even had a pillow. The bus stop is nice in that the stops are marked off for everyone to line-up for the bus they want.

Concierge tried to help us with adding a day to our magic your way tickets (we checked in on the day the tickets changed). We were there a few more days than we had tickets for and wanted to skip 1 day. They told us it would cost $56 or $58 to add a day to our 5 and 6 day passes and then if we wanted to be able to skip the 1 day, we would have to buy a flex pass and that would cost a total of $111 each (yikes!). We decided to wait and see if we really needed the extra day and then I stopped back the next night at concierge and they called guest relations and we were told that we needed to go to guest relations before we used the tickets and that they could make the adjustment for us the old way. We ended up stopping at guest relations the next day and although it took 1.5 - 2 hours, they were able to help us add another day at the old prices.

The food court and store are just as nice as the other resorts. The buses worked our great for us and Sports is first with the bus stops when sharing with the other value resorts which came in very handy.

I always liked this resort, and they are always nice to work with at concierge. It was just too difficult with the room location and having an elderly person.

Oh, I was beyond shocked when I saw the prices in the food court at a Value resort. I think a cheeseburger was $19! I had a turkey and gravy dinner with a veggie for $13 or $14.

Pros:

Small resort with lines properly marked for the buses and first stop for the value resorts. They had an alarm clock in the room! (The moderate resort didn't.)

Cons:

Very uncomfortable mattresses and pillows. There are rooms in the back that make you feel like you're not even in the resort and rooms up front that are too loud if you want to rest when the pool is open.

Stayed here for one night in February 2018. My last stay at this resort was May 2012. My party of four adults in two rooms wanted an inexpensive place to stay before our Disney Cruise.

When I first booked our reservation, I requested adjoining rooms (not connecting). During online check in, I requested highest floor and near an elevator. A few days before travel, I faxed a request for neighboring pool view rooms in Surf's Up (we did book preferred rooms), one with a king bed for our friends. While both rooms were on the third floor near an elevator, they were in two totally different sections. I received my request for Surf's Up pool view, but our friends were relegated to Touchdown, without a king bed. I understand these were only requests, but just wanted to mention it.

The resort had many cheerleaders staying there, which negatively impacted our experience with Magical Express and luggage delivery, which I will expand upon in its own section. Regardless, the resort was clearly not prepared for the influx, and our baggage did not arrive until many hours (5-6) after we arrived at MCO. Our friends' luggage was delivered even later (12:15am). Bell services at the resort was incredibly unhelpful with the situation, even though they knew the luggage was "in the back somewhere". When I originally called down to the luggage assistance desk, I called several times with no answer, immediately put into a hold queue, for over 15 minutes.

We had a negative experience with the food court, which again I will review separately. Additionally, by 10:30pm, we had no information about when our luggage would be retrieved from our rooms or when we would be picked up for the cruise the next day. When I went down to the lobby, the cast member was very helpful and apologetic, and found the information for me right away.

On the positive side, our room was very clean. Disney has upgraded from the old Orange Blossom shampoo/conditioner combo to separate H20 brand choices. We found the beds to be comfortable and the pillows nice and fluffy. Overlooking the pool, I knew noise might be a problem, but once we shut the door to the room, we heard almost nothing, which was great! One minor complaint about the room is that my mom prefers to fall asleep with a light on, and even in rooms where one switch controls two lamps (like Port Orleans French Quarter) she can usually unscrew one bulb to dim things a bit. This was absolutely impossible at this resort without the use of a screwdriver so it was definitely a bit bright.

I did enjoy going around taking photos of the resort before we departed. As a travel agent, I would not recommend this resort to a client or friend and I would not stay here again.

Pros:

Clean room, good soundproofing, comfortable beds, upgraded toiletries

Cons:

Cheerleaders, food court, luggage delay

We stayed at All Star Sports in September 2016. It was myself, husband and two girls, ages 5 & 1. We did not enjoy our stay and will not be returning. We have previously stayed at Pop Century and really liked it. So our issues were specific to Sports, not Values in general.
First the good. The food in the food court was good. Lots of choices and always tasted good. The staff inside the food court were always helpful & friendly.
Now the not so good. We had connecting rooms with my parents. In between the two doors was a broken piece of metal. Both me and my baby cut our foot on it and were bleeding. We reported it and were told it would be fixed by maintenance. It never was. There was a big storm on the Monday of our trip. The walkways were covered in mulch, sticks and debris. When we checked out on Saturday, they were still a mess. They were never cleaned. There was a strong sewer smell by the pool. The pool was also kept way too warm. It was 90 degrees and super humid our whole trip. The pool was too warm to use. It made us more hot. The drink stations were often out. Coffee and cream should not be empty at 8am. And finally, we found a live cockroach in our bathroom. I complained to a manager about all these issues and he could care less. Barely muttered an apology and offered us free fastpasses. I found it insulting and like he was accepting that we were at the bottom of the Disney barrel. I guess this is a case of 'you get what you pay for'. We paid for the cheapest Disney accommodations and apparently, that's exactly what we got.

Pros:

Food court choices

Cons:

Lack of cleanliness

We've stayed at AS Sports in the past but started staying at Pop Century the last few times we've visited Disney. Next time we're going back to Pop Century or staying at one of the upper level hotels.
We've always understood that "value resort" is marketing speak for cheap, but it's just really bad. We never saw the point in spending twice or even three times the money to stay at one of the upper level hotels, our argument was that they're all run by Disney, but I can no longer justify staying here anymore.
The rooms are incredibly small and smell dirty. There was peeling paint, cigarette burn marks on the sink, the walls are made of cinder block and you can hear absolutely everything going on in your neighbors rooms. It's just really gross.
Through my job, I've stayed at a lot of different hotel chains at all price points, but Disney's "value" resorts are some of the worst. They are not anywhere near up to the Disney standard, or at least the Disney standard that used to exist.

There's more I can say but I think you get the point.

Pros:

inexpensive

Cons:

Dirty, small rooms, too much to list here
