I only been here 4 days out of 7 I have stayed here before. So far the staff have been super asked for extra room towels they sent more than asked for Plus wash cloths. I had a problem with room safe person on phone very pleasant within five minutes security person at my door. No complaints now or in my past stays here
Pros:

I really enjoyed staying here with my family. There is reviews about bad service, which is all but untrue. Just ask and most likely you will get what you ask for like towels, house keeping, pillows, etc. Costs are really nice. The transportation is great because you have quick access to the Magic Kingdom from the walk from the resort to the Polynesian and hop on the Monorail and this includes going to Epcot. The Busses are just fine, just a standard Disney bus. The quality is very high and very nice on the higher end then the All Star Resorts.
Pros:
Costs, Transportation, and QualityCons:
Merchandise and Food option directly at the hotel are minimal and need to go somewhere else for thatReviewed by BadWolf85 Review Date: 10/25/2021

We've have stayed at SoG a few times now and each time we go I am happy with the stay. For the cost of the hotel we are able to stay for longer and enjoy more of WDW. My kids always have a blast at the pools and the Exchange is such a plus! We are constantly there getting little things to help with our stay. Like all vacations, things can and usually go wrong but I can say that has never happened to us at SoG! You are close to MK and the TTC. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are big and clean! If you can stay here, definitely do it! As much as I would love to stay at one of WDW big 3 resorts I cannot justify paying almost triple the price for a room you basically sleep in.
Pros:
Close to everything Clean and spacious rooms helpful service amazing pools kid friendly a reassuring feeling of safetyCons:
Not really a con but we didn't really care for the bus system (during covid) because we have a double stroller and 3 kids. So we prefer to just drive to each park and pay the parking fee.Reviewed by Anonymous Review Date: 07/24/2021

Had a great stay, it was like staying in a deluxe disney resort. People very friendly, and food prices were very cheap for disney standards. Beautiful resort, and hop, skip, & a jump from Poly.
Pros:
RESTAURANTS, PRICE, FRIENDLINESS OF FELLOW GUESTS, THE EXCHANGE, NO TAXES, & SPACIOUS ROOMSCons:

This beautiful, calm resort has the amenities of a deluxe resort with bigger rooms than most places on DW. It has it's own busses and is a short walk from the DW ITT and The Poly with all of its transportation, food and drinks! Shades is a gem.
Pros:
huge rooms, beautiful, parking garage and practically a Monorail resort.Cons:
fewer hidden Mickeys... I guess that's a con and the only con I can think of.Reviewed by Ddandridge Review Date: 03/18/2020

It makes us feel as if we are staying at a deluxe resort for a moderate price. Great benefit for active duty, veterans, and their families.
Pros:
We love how close Shades is located to MK and TTC. The staff is great and responsive to any needs. The rooms are very spacious and updated.Cons:
The Shades buses leave something to be desired, but the Polynesian is within walking distance to use Disney World buses or monorail.Reviewed by Nodak Mouse Lover Review Date: 09/30/2018

We've stayed at Shades of Green many times and have always had an amazing vacation! Everyone from staff to other guests have been super friendly.
We are usually out having fun all day and don't eat lunch or dinner at the resort, but quite often have had breakfast at the Garden Gallery and loved it. The omelet station is great and they will cook eggs to order, not just omelets. The Express Cafe by the bus stop is really good and reasonably priced.
Rooms are huge and comfy. Our last room had been renovated and had everything we need.
Buses were efficient and on time. A lot of people complain about the buses but we work with the schedule and have no problems or complaints.
Another comment I hear is "the lack of Disney feel". I'm here to tell you, I appreciate the calm after a full day immersed in Disney atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, I love the atmosphere when at the parks but it is so peaceful at the end of the day.
Pros:
Room size, ticket office, breakfast, atmosphereCons:

We stayed 29 Nov - 4 Dec 2015. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was in the Palm Wing and was one of the recently renovated rooms. It was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was also spacious, with two sinks. The resort itself was beautifully appointed with Christmas decorations. It never felt crowded, though the front desk said they were fully occupied. We were able to eat at Manginos with no reservation. There was never a long line at the Java Cafe. We used the Exchange for miscellaneous purchases. The Mill Pond pool was perfect for our 7 year old daughter. They also have a nice playground area for burning off steam. After staying at other Disney Deluxe resorts, I loved this resort for the good value, low crowds, beautiful surroundings. The only drawback for us was that the SOG busses don't start until 30 minutes before the park opens. We like to be at the park at least 45 minutes before park opening. We walked on the 1/2 mile path to the Polynesian every morning and used Disney transporation to the parks. We used SOG transportation for the rides home at night and that worked well.
