Awful experience, do not recommend. The line for the sky liner originally is loooong even if you get in line early, and there is always some kind of problem. When I was there, the Hollywood studios line wasn’t working so we had to get out of the line we were waiting in to go to the front to catch a bus that we were told wasn’t provided in the first place, and then we were told in that line to go back to the other line for the skyliner. And as you go on the first time, in order to get to the parks you have to transfer into another line. The lines are sooooo not worth it and having simultaneous buses along with it would work so much better. If you would like to get to the park at a normal time and actually use the perk that resort guests get into the parks half an hour before, stay at a resort that doesn’t make you take the skyliner.

Pros:

Get directly into the park

Cons:

Long lines, confusion, even if you were excited to ride the skyliner you’ll be disappointed, and just plain unnecessary

Loooong lines! Busses were a better solution. Disney needs to get a grip, we don't always enjoy waiting in line!

Pros:

Neat experience

Cons:

Lines!

Pros:

Social distance

Cons:

SLOW!!

Stopped four times from studios to the transfer station - swinging in the wind dangling by a single wire does not instill any confidence. Why didn't wdw put in a trolley??? The views were not good either - clear cut through trees for the gondola system, studios parking lot, and going over a road were not a view to remember and atypical of the wdw experience.

Pros:

I guess if this is your only alternative to the bus it would be ok - assuming that there are no thunderstorms or winds.

Cons:

A rather cheap solution that Walt Disney would probably not approve of. Plus I can see this shutting down whenever there is lightning nearby.

I tried the skyliner in December on a very windy day when I was at Epcot and it stopped for a good 20 minutes in the air at the highest point shaking very badly in the wind with nothing coming over the loudspeaker while stopped. I was honestly very scared. I got off at Caribbean when I finally started moving again and decided to take the bus from there back to Epcot. I was lost. I didn't see signage as to where to get the bus. I had to ask a cast member where the main building was. It's way too spread out. And the bus kept stopping at all of the bus stops not once but twice.

Pros:

Quick to get places I assume if it's running appropriately

Cons:

Not recommended in inclement weather conditions, nothing came over loudspeaker when stopped, can be scary if you have a fear of heights

The skyliner is the newest way to get around the parks. The gondolas have Disney characters painted on it and look so cute! However, sometimes lines can be long. Disney helps time go by by putting a Jofferey’s coffee shop in the middle of the line. But, no food nor drink is allowed on the skyliner so, eat quickly! One thing you should know about the skyliner is that it is not air conditioned. Plus, they shut down during inclement weather.
Once, we planned to take the skyliner back to our resort from EPCOT, but it unexpectedly stormed! So, we had to run inside the Beach Club and take cover for half an hour.

You can get great views from up high in the sky, though. The skyliner is a great experience and every Disney fan should give it a try!

Pros:

View, Jofferey’s, looks cute and has Disney feel

Cons:

Long line, food and drink not allowed inside, no air conditioning, not open during inclement weather

I really liked how quickly we were able to board and unload from the Skyliner. What wasn't fun for my kids was the wind and the stopping when we came in to the station. Also the 90 degree turn to go to Epcot was a little scary.

Pros:

Speed of arrival to parks. Shorter lines into Epcot

Cons:

Wind Stopping at stations

While you typically think of the skyliner as a transportation system to get you to the parks, we love it for its proximity to so many of the resort restaurants. We always look to make ADRs at restaurants outside of the parks as they typically have better food and quieter atmosphere. Riding a gondola makes it much easier, and definitely more magical, to get to places like Beaches and Cream, Topolino's Terrace, Cape May Cafe or Trattoria al Forno.

And as amazing as the skyliner is for getting to restaurants, it's also a fun and dependable way to travel to and from the parks...but typically only if you're not in a hurry. If you're looking to rope drop Hollywood Studios or EPCOT, the skyliner isn't usually the quickest route. Especially if you're staying at POP Century or Art of Animation, there can be long waits at Caribbean Beach's hub/station. To avoid those long lines, we typically opt for rideshare (especially back when we had to be in the park for those highly coveted ROTR boarding passes!) or start our day a little later at those parks.

And as an added bonus, on non-park days the skyliner gondolas can be a ride in themselves offering great views of Disney property that you won't see any other way!

Pros:

proximity to restaurants, unique vantage point of property

Cons:

long lines at opening and closing

I rode this to the Caribbean Beach resort so I could catch a bus to Disney Springs. In about 10 minutes or less I was there from HS. I got to ride in a purple 7 Dwarves themed gondola. Absolutely amazing views and what a cool and different perspective.

Pros:

Very quick, great themes, can get to different resorts quickly if you want to resort hop.

Cons:

None that I have seen so far

This form of transportation feels more like a ride! I love the views you get as you travel to your destination. It is fun and a unique experience. The only reason I didn't give it 10/10 is because the lines get crazy long in the morning and rival other forms of transportation, but the line moves fairly quickly. It's very much worth the wait! Way more fun than a bus!

Pros:

New, fun, feels like a ride, beautiful views

Cons:

Long lines, goes down due to weather
