Disney Pic of the Week: Frontierland Entertainment

Photographic Innoventions by Scott Thomas

While wandering around Disneyland’s Frontierland, I heard music and laughter coming from the Golden Horseshoe Saloon. Upon entering, I saw the place full of guests and a troop calling themselves the Laughing Stock Co. doing a show. Well, I strapped on my fisheye lens and headed to the balcony. I wanted to capture the Golden Horseshoe Saloon in all its glory.

The Golden Horseshoe Saloon opened in 1955 with several other original attractions at Disneyland. It was where Walt Disney and his wife, Lillian, celebrated their 30th anniversary with the debut performance of the original Golden Horseshoe Revue. Walt kept a private box (now public) upstairs to the right of the stage so he could watch the show whenever he felt like it (Source Wikipedia).

Lisa will be here on Thursday to share her favorite Disney Pic of the Week about Frontierland Entertainment.
