Booking Flights on This Major Airline Could Now Be EASIER

Planning an upcoming visit to Disney World or Universal Orlando?

Where are you headed next?

No matter where you’re headed next, chances are you might be looking for ways to save money on your trip — especially if you have to deal with the whims of air travel. Flying isn’t cheap, but one major airline is looking to change a policy that could help frequent travelers out a bit.

Heads up, travelers! NBC News has shared that United Airlines has started allowing frequent flyer miles to be shared among family and friends. Members of the airline’s MileagePlus loyalty program can pool their miles and use the pooled points to book trips on United.

The “pool leader” will be able to pick up to four other family members or friends to be part of the joint account. The leader must be at least 18, but other members can be any age — meaning you can use your kids’ miles toward tickets as well.

United says that customers will still keep their own MileagePlus accounts and can decide how to contribute to the pool, if at all. But, Luc Bondar, chief operating officer of the MileagePlus program, says, “Once those miles are in the pool…they stay in the pool,” meaning you can’t take them back once they’ve been contributed.

The miles can be redeemed for flights and other products on United’s website or app.

Are you a frequent flyer?

JetBlue Airways also lets up to seven customers pool frequent flyer miles, and Frontier Airlines allows up to eight customers to combine miles. Hopefully, this will make booking your next flight a little easier!
