NEWS: Disney World’s New Permit Could Be a CLUE on When DinoLand U.S.A. Could Close Forever

It seems we may be one step closer to seeing the end of Dinoland U.S.A. as we currently know it.

Animal Kingdom

Ever since Disney announced plans to reimagine the current land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom during the 2023 D23 Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Disney fans have been buzzing about when DinoLand U.S.A.’s doors would officially close to start the process of retheming the land. Now, it seems we may be one step closer to an answer!

Sleuthing the internet is kind of our thing, and we happened upon a quiet clue that could give us more of a timeline on when we can expect major change to come to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Dinoland U.S.A.

It wasn’t too long ago that Disney announced plans to completely retheme the entire DinoLand U.S.A. area in favor of another popular Disney IP. While it’s still up in the air about which characters and theming we could see next here, a quick internet search gave us a hint towards another burning question. Since the announcement at Disney’s exclusive event last year, Disney has remained mum on pretty much anything else about this overhaul, but we recently discovered permits have recently been filed to start the process.

Disney has filed an SFWMD permit for a 5-acre trailer compound to be built just ahead of Kali River Rapids. While this doesn’t detail any demolition or give any further insight into anything but the trailer compound that will probably become a holding space for construction supplies, the permit also details improvements made to the roadway that leads directly to DinoLand.

Could we see more of a firm announcement of closure for Dinoland U.S.A. in the near future? We hope this points to a definite soon one way or another.
