Traveling to Disney World can be super expensive, and you have to add your travel costs to the total of an already pricey vacation. Many people choose to fly to Orlando, and it’s no secret that plane tickets are costly, but what about the people who drive? We’re here to warn you about the cost of bringing a car to Florida right now!

The Orlando Sentinel reports that Florida gas prices are on the rise currently. In fact, as of Sunday, March 17th, the state average for a gallon of gas is $3.48 — up 10 cents from the previous week’s average.

AAA compiled the data, noting that rising gas prices in the spring season are pretty typical for Florida, due to Spring Break travelers and seasonal residents. “The jump at the pump may not be over yet,” said AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins.  “Drivers may be in line for another round of rising prices, after gasoline and crude oil futures rose to new 2024 highs last week.”

Currently, West Palm Beach-Boca Raton, Naples, and Fort Lauderdale have the highest average prices in the state. So if you’re driving to Florida soon, you might want to consider scheduling your fuel stops strategically. And don’t forget to budget a little extra gas money!
