absolutely terrifying. changed everything good about life and made it a horrifying rotting carcass. made me unable to identify if i would every feel okay again. I, a middle aged woman with 7 kids find it hard to find activities the entire family enjoys. i spent hours researching family friendly activities and this is the only one i came up with. my daughters cried for hours after it and my son can not look at mickey mouse the same. Suzi-Anne my 28 year old daughter says that was the most scared she’s ever been.
Pros:
workers were nice 😊Cons:
every other thing.Reviewed by Anonymous Review Date: 04/04/2020

it does not go with the old theme of the park and does not live up to the standard of the great movie ride and almost made me puke
Pros:
monumentalCons:
long lines, feels more like a simulatorReviewed by Anonymous Review Date: 09/05/2023

Terrified my 4yo, was even horrific for me
Pros:
The wait was shortCons:
We went in thinking it was just your typical "slow" atmospheric ride. The "explosion" in the first room made this hell for us and our 4yo. And it didn't get any better. I have NEVER been on a ride that was as loud as this one. I think even without my kid, it would've been miserable for me. The rest of the ride aspects weren't even worth that auditory suffering. It just wasn't anything impressive. It's only redeeming quality, at least according to my 9yo was "dancing" with Daisy.Reviewed by Anonymous Review Date: 12/22/2020

They shouldn't have replaced the GMR with this. It goes so fast you don't have time to look at anything. Half the animatronics have no movement.
Pros:
Time wasterCons:
bad animatronics, short, too many projectionsReviewed by Anonymous Review Date: 05/24/2021

I think that this ride is totally overrated. The queue is almost all outside which makes for very hot and very long waits in line. It features a cute storyline with Minnie and Mickey but is not very thrilling for any adrenaline junkies in your travel party. This ride is built in the old Chinese theater that used to feature The Great Movie Ride. I personally do not see the reason that this ride has such long wait lines other than that it is a brand new ride that everyone wants to experience. If this is your first time at the parks, spend your time waiting in line for other attractions instead of this one. This ride also made me motion sick due to the use of screens and special effects. In case you were wondering, rollercoasters do not make me sick, but the "virtual" rides that are at Universal Studios do make me very motion sick.
Pros:
theming, storytelling, family rideCons:
motion sickness, hot and long waits, overratedReviewed by kgregory91 Review Date: 12/02/2021

The ride was very disappointing. Art work looks like Disney is too cheap to do it well and the voices and singing was very unpleasant to hear. It literally hurt my ears
Pros:
The ride motion was fun. I like the Daisy Duck dancing room. Music was okayCons:
Sounds and art work were bad. Really do not like.Reviewed by Anonymous Review Date: 04/06/2021

Not the great movie rideReviewed by Anonymous Review Date: 12/14/2020

This ride would be great if it wasn't a replacement of The Great Movie Ride, that fact just bogs down my rating of it. Replacing a animatronic special effects spectacular with what is just a screen ride with very few animatronics was just a bad move. They should've replaced the Launch Bay in Animation Courtyard with Runaway Railway. That way more people would go to that area of the park, we get a great new ride, and keep the great movie ride. But all in all Runaway Railway isn't terrible.
Pros:
Pretty cool projections, The only ride about MickeyCons:
Short, relies to much on projections, replaced The Great Movie RideReviewed by astrosally Review Date: 12/10/2020

The technology is cool, but the ride was kinda boring and the story not very interesting. It’s worth riding once but the wait time is usually pretty long, it’s not on my ‘must ride’ list at Hollywood Studios. It felt like a demonstration of the capabilities of the trackless system, but I wish it were more of a fun ride.
