Dined at the Kona Cafe on 12/19 for dinner on the dining plan. The bread was out of this world, DD15 asked for more, which our server was happy to bring and she just about ate the whole loaf by herself! DW ordered the Kona Coffee rubbed pork chop, which she said was the best pork chop she ever had.

I had the Teriyaki NY Stip which was cooked to perfection; DD 15 had the pan Asian noodles and DD19 had the spiced Ahi Tuna, which they both loved.

Dessert was excellent as well; the banana creme brulee was fantastic and the chocolate fruit fondue was great.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Kona. I had the Duck which was the best thing I ate all vacation, my fiance's steak very tasty. For dessert, I enjoyed the chocolate fondue, my fiancee had kilauea torte, which was warm chocolatey goodness. We would definitely eat here again.

Easy Reservation, Delicious Food, Calm Atmosphere

We usually do lunch here. It feels like a hidden gem. It's always easy to get a table/reservation. It's easy to get to from MK and a nice mid-day break. Although it's right off the lobby, it's much calmer and quieter than most restaurants. We love the sticky wings. Unfortunately they have cut the order size in half, but not the price. Potstickers are very good. Kona salad was kind of disappointing mainly due to bland dressing and abundance of red onions. The 'Ohana salad dressing is so good, I wish they used that dressing. Thumbs up for burger and pulled pork tacos. Thumbs down for steak polynesian plate lunch (a poor, tough cut of meat). We've had most desserts, which are all good. Kona Kone is fun. Chocolate fondue is our favorite and definitely enough for 2 people. Service tends to be friendly but on the slow side.

Pros:

sticky wings, desserts, low noise level

Cons:

slowish service, not all entrees equally good

We ate dinner here Jan. 3. There was no place to sit down to wait until our reservation was ready. The couches and chairs at the end of the lobby area were full.

The cafe is just off the doors to the monorail, so it is busy and noisy, plus the sound of the waterfall contributed to the noise.

The restaurant is open to this activity and it was hard to have a quiet conversation. Maybe if they built a half wall or put in some other kind of sound absorption, this restaurant would be more relaxing,
.
The food was good. We had Asian noodles, coconut chicken and coffee crusted pork chops. The salads and breads were delicious as well. Our server was informed and helpful. The coffee was the smoothest, most delicious coffee we have enjoyed on WDW property!

This restaurant is very convenient to get to from the Magic Kingdom.

Pros:

Good food, convenient location

Cons:

Noisy, did not feel upscale

We had dinner here our first night of our trip. Our server was Mohammed. He was very accommodating to our son's picky tastes. He was efficient and pleasant. I had the lo-mein noodles, my husband had the strip steak and we had the pot stickers for appetizer. And when my son (who has autism) decided the meal was -over-, he boxed up our desserts so we could take them with us. We were very grateful.

This was our favorite meal of our trip. I had hoped to make reservations at 'Ohana, but there were no slots available. As a backup, I looked at the reviews of Kona Cafe - and one AllEars member had described it as the best kept secret of the Polynesian. I have to agree.

My husband had the Kona crusted pork chop and it was outstanding. I had the mahi-mahi with Swiss chard and forbidden rice and that was amazing too!
The kids were happy enough with their meals (shrimp kabobs and mickey ravioli). We were all thrilled to be able to order the (non alcoholic) specialty drinks as part of our dining plan - and it made the evening even more outstanding.

When the specialty pineapple bread and butter came, we fell in love - but I noticed there was something in the butter - turned out to be macadamia nuts which I'm allergic to. When I asked the server about it, he made sure to go back to the chef and make sure that nothing else coming to our table would have macadamias - without me asking him to.

We'll be sure to go there any time we're back!

Can't give this a 10 because I waited (alone) for almost 20 minutes past my ADR time.

That said, once I was seated, the service and food were fantastic!

Pros:

Food, service

Cons:

Long wait for a table after ADR time

We were a party of 17 had dinner on 2/17. We were seated promptly and all at one table! Our server was excellent. My dh says that the pork chop is the best thing he ate all week! The banana chocolate creme brulee was wonderful! My only complaint is that it is very noisy as the restaurant is located in the lobby of the main building.

Pros:

Service and Food

Cons:

Noisy

This is definitely a hidden gem and shouldn't be overlooked. We've been coming here for 9 years. Our server was great and attentive. This was the first dinner of out 8 day trip. For starters, they bring out this amazing bread with an amazing macadamia but butter! I can eat the whole thing myself. It's so good. As a drink on the dining plan, I got a pina colada. For dinner I had the noodles, which was really good. My wife had the teriyaki steak and my mother in law had the coconut chicken. All of them were very, very good. I do miss my shrimp and scallops dinner and hope they bring it back. The desserts are amazing! You can't go wrong with any choice. It was 2 year old sons birthday and they brought out a cupcake with a chocolate drawing of Lilo and Stitch. My son loved it and was happy. The server even used plates behind my son's ears to make him look like Mickey. I love Kona Cafe and can't wait to go back!
