This place hit my radar before my first trip after hearing about the Tonga Toast, now I make sure to go every trip, even if I have to go solo.
Pros:
Tonga toast and mimosa flights!! Also, the Polynesian is gorgeous, any excuse to visit this resort is good enough for me!Cons:
Zip, zero, nada. I love this place and will continue to go every visitReviewed by DeniseKH Review Date: 04/26/2022

We were in Disney from February 1-11, 2022 and we stayed at the Polynesian for the first time and in turn our first time eating at Kona Café and it was amazing. We had it for breakfast and I fell in love. If we had more time there, we most certainly would have eaten there again. Our waitress, Dorthey from NJ, was so funny and just the best way to start our morning. You have to eat here!
Pros:
Food, cast members, location, priceCons:

We absolutely loved our breakfast at kona cafe! The staff was very caring and provided us with many options to make our meal great, including sharing with us a wide variety of dairy free creamers for coffee! My partner and I both had the Tonga toast and were very impressed with the quality of the food! It’s the perfect balance of banana with thick cinnamon sugar toast. While you can get this item at Captain Cooks, the strawberry compote made the toast even more delicious. We also enjoyed the kona coffee and loved that our cast member let us take leftovers to go! I highly recommend this great breakfast spot
Pros:
Quality food and serviceCons:
The restaurant isn’t overly themed like other Disney restaurants but the food is worth the visit!Reviewed by debg33 Review Date: 06/08/2019

We actually ate here 2 during our Trip in July 2018. Both times i got last minute ADR. Our waitress the first day was amazing and so sweet. Mom and i had the french toast both visits, Dad had Macadamia Pancakes and niece and her friend (both (9) had the kids' pancakes. Everything was so delicious the first day, that Mom said (while we were still at table)"log into that Disney app and get us reservations again for breakfast on our last day." The second time our server wasn't as nice as our first one. My Dad didn't want the pineapple sauce on his pancakes, and the waitress asked rather rudely "Why? Are you allergic?" I understand the need for the question, but her tone was offputting. My Mom loved Kona so much and what she saw of the Polynesian that she said next year she wants to stay there, partly just to eat breakfast at Kona alot.

Had Breakfast at the Kona Café on 12/10 and 12/11/16. Had Macadamia Pineapple pancakes and Big Kahuna. Great as always. (the pressed pot of coffee terrible, quality went down, price went up. On 12/11/2016 the last day of my trip there was a place card on my table that said
"Welcome back Gullotti Ohana" it made my day and my trip

We ate breakfast on 9/11 at Kona Cafe. This is always our favorite breakfast. We always have the dining plan, but this is very reasonable price wise if you do not. The coffee and food was wonderful. Nothing but great things to say about this place.
