Waited for table even though there were empty tables, was told that I had to move my own chair to table so there were 5 seats. Table set for 5. Pancakes dry and burned on bottom. No refills at our table, but waitress asked table next to us if they wanted refills and they got them. Never again will I go there. Used to be a favorite!

Pros:

nothing

Cons:

food, service, and very loud

I had read such good things about Kona, so I booked a breakfast ADR. It was very convienent since we were staying at the Polynesian. We were paying for this out of pocket since we had dinners schedules for our dining plan credits. It was an absolute waste of $30. The food was HORRIBLE. The eggs were so runny they were likes soup, the potatoes were burned beyond recongnition. Our server pretty much ignored because there was a "regular" in her section so she spent her entire time chatting with him. When she realized that we hadn't eaten much she offered to get us something else, but I just wanted to leave. She didn't offer to take anything off the bill even when I showed her how runny the eggs were, so we just paid and got out of there.

I will not be back to Kona Café.

A 27 year favorite of my family. Disappointing this past week…I’d recommend but barely

Pros:

Cast members are very friendly and helpful.

Cons:

The iconic Lillykoi juice has changed, now not so much a juice but “kool-ade” water based drink. Very disappointing. Please restore the Lillikoi juice to its glory! Seriously…bring back the juice.

We ate here the morning of my 40th birthday. We had been to Kona for dinner on a previous trip, but I always wanted to do breakfast. The food was okay, honestly I had higher expectations for my Tonga Toast after hearing so much about it! It just seemed like a ton of bread with a little banana. I also wish they served real bacon, not the limp cold microwave stuff. My husband ordered the Samoan, and enjoyed it, but nothing we are dying to go back for. Our service was the least impressive of our trip, our server was often missing completely and had to ask another cast member for our check. On a morning when we are going to a park, it was a bit frustrating to wait so long. Both parties on either side of us were also fairly annoyed as well. It wasn't bad, but I can't say it was worth the time either.

Pros:

coffee

service

We had a late breakfast at the Kona café on Sunday, September 21, 2014. Our ADRs were for 10:15am, but we were not seated until 10:40am – they were really busy. The wait paid off as we were seated at a nice table in the back corner of the restaurant. My wife got the steak and eggs, while I got the two eggs any way meal. Our food was good, but the Kona Coffee was very, very good. We’d go back for the coffee, not the food. My wife asked for her steak to be cooked medium rare, and it came out nearly well done. Service was very good throughout our meal.

Pros:

Coffee, service

Cons:

I had the opportunity to eat at Kona for the first time during my March 2013 trip. I had a late breakfast at 10am. The restaurant was not crowded. Since it was my first time here, I had to have the Tonga Toast with bacon & Press Pot coffee.

My server Eric was so nice! He took my order and went to prepare my Press pot of coffee. I was a little disappointed when my breakfast was delivered only 2 mins later by another server, and I hadn't even gotten my coffee yet. It was as if they had the food already made & ready to deliver to a customer...it was that fast.

My server was a bit upset about it when he delivered my Press pot of coffee. He apologized even though it wasn't his fault.

Nevertheless, the food was very good as was the coffee. If you are a coffee lover, definitely get the Press Pot of Kona coffee. You won't be disappointed.

The tonga toast came with a strawberry compote (tasted exactly like the 1900 park fare strawberry soup) and regular syrup. It was a big portion and I couldn't finish it all, but it was really good.

My server Eric was a great server, and made my breakfast enjoyable.

Pros:

Great Service!

Cons:

pacing of the meal was fast.

Had a great meal for two by splitting a couple appetizers and one entree. We got the chicken wings and potsticker appetizers and they were fantastic especially the potsticker. The pork belly noodle bowl was also delicious and is a generous portion. Love the setting and it was rather loud which made it great for a dinner with a 7 month old who can get a little loud himself.

Pros:

Setting and decor Portion size

Cons:

Style of food might not be for everyone

We had ADR for breakfast at Kona Cafe on a Sunday morning and we were seated right when we checked in. The menu had a lot of good options. I ordered the Tonga Toast and my daughter had the fruit plate. Both entrees were fabulous. The Tonga Toast was served hot and fruit was very fresh. She did miss that fruit was no longer served in a pineapple. We had a good server and the press pot coffee was also very good.

Pros:

We dined here on May 19th. The food was great. The Tonga Toast is a must. I would have given it a 10 except for our server. She was not very attentive. We are not the type of people that need someone to cater to us immediately, but she did not check on us once our meal was served to see if we needed our coffee refilled or if we would like to order something else.

Pros:

Food and atmosphere

Cons:

Service
