I enjoy chicken teriyaki. I have had it at take out Japanese and in fine Japanese restaurants. The dish had no resemblance to the picture on the menu board. No flavor. Vegetables minimal. Take out Japanese in Dover, Delaware was better. Epcot should strive to do better. It's expensive.

Pros:

I normally say atmosphere but it really wasn't that great

Cons:

Lack of flavor, seemed microwaved, no grilling

This has always been a favorite of ours. For some reason they switched the chicken thigh in the chicken dishes to unbreaded chicken tenders. The meat was dry and chewy and had no taste. Why would you do this??? There is a huge difference between white meat and dark meat. I see no reason to return to this place.

Pros:

Easy to get a seat

Cons:

food is horrible

My son ordered the teryaki salmon. He said it tasted good, but was very dry. I was not impressed at all, but for a 14 year old, food is food and he ate every bite!

Pros:

The outside seating

Cons:

Dry salmon

I used to love Yakitori House so I figured I’d give Katsura a try. It tasted nothing like its predecessor though. I got the Teriyaki Chicken with Rice and Vegetables during my most recent visit. The food was horrible, it was so undercooked that it tasted raw. My dad was so insulted he even went as far to say “I feel like throwing my tray of food at the cooks face.” I wouldn’t go that far, but I do think he could have done a much better job. After the meal we ate our desserts, we got green tea cakes which tasted bad.

I thought the darker setting inside the old restaurant was better as well. It now seems too bright inside because of the new lighter colored wood tables and white background. If you can manage to get a seat inside the basic structure of the place is still pretty cool. The Japanese arched roof is still a nice thing to look at while your eating your raw food. Luckily they couldn’t get rid of that part. It was so tiny inside though that most people had to sit outside under red umbrellas. Which is doubly awful when it’s a scorching 90 degrees out.

So unless you are desperate don’t go to Katsura.

Pros:

ceiling

Cons:

everything else

My husband and I shared a Shogun Combo platter of chicken and beef with rice and veggies. The sauce was good, but the meat was not very good. Overall, the food did not look appetizing. With all of the other great places to eat in the World Showcase, I won't be back here.

Pros:

clean, nice view

Cons:

appearance of food

I ordered the Beef Udon, because I'd read the chicken was thigh meat, and I don't care for dark meat. The noodles were big and chewy, and the beef was shaved thin and rolled in a wad. Blech. I ate it, because I don't like wasting food. I didn't get sick or anything, but I wouldn't order that item again. I'll only go back if I'm with someone who really wants sushi.

Pros:

Very clean, pleasant staff

Cons:

Didn't care for the food.

We were the first to enter the restaurant after opening and had to wait 10 minutes or so for the staff to count money and get their act together before we could order. We ordered the noodle bowls and did not care for the taste of the beef...tasted oddly sweet and the noodles were very fat, not like the kind you get at the Teppan Edo. The tables were way too close together and there's no way to push your chair to get out without hitting the chair behind you.

Pros:

Green Iced Tea

Cons:

Food, staff, seating

I really, really wanted to like this restaurant. The setting is lovely, particularly the outdoor seating and the CMs were among the friendliest we met, but I really didn't enjoy the food enough to go back. I got the tononsama combo. The best part was the rice and vegetables and they were just okay. The chicken was dark meat and rather rubbery and flavorless. The steak had the most flavor but it was a cross between ground and shredded beef, not the consistency I was expecting or cared for. The salmon was probably the best of the trio, but still not particularly flavorful or moist. Yes, the portions were large, but unfortunately this just meant more food that I ended up tossing.

Pros:

friendly CMs, nice setting

Cons:

food lacked flavor

The food is nice, especially coming from a country that doesn't do great Japanese food. The vegetable roll is a nice vegan option. But the reason we come here every WDW visit is the seating. It's a lovely place to sit and recuperate, it's set back enough from the crowds and the theming is absolutely beautiful.

Pros:

Beautiful place to have a chill in Epcot.

Cons:

Food could be more exciting

I love Japanese food, so I thought it would be great to have a quick bite at a nice little restaurant that wasn’t too expensive. The food is pretty good, but the price for it is a little bit too expensive, but that’s Disney World for you. The service I got was pretty crappy considering how lively cast members usually are in the parks. Mine looked distracted, and they were just fiddling around doing origami and messing with chopsticks. They just asked me what I wanted and nothing more, gave me my food and went. The seating is nice only in good weather, and at non busy times. The Japanese architecture is very serene and calming, the music is light, and all you really hear is the nice little waterfall and the chatter of other families. Would recommend if you were looking for a quick bite.

Pros:

Relaxing, Decent food, Scenery

Cons:

Seating, Service
