I've been to Homecomin' twice now and was not impressed on either trip. Most of the food and drinks that I tried was just okay. Both times the service was not great.

Pros:

The chicken sandwiches are delicious. These are a must-order if you eat here.

Cons:

The moonshine flight is a more expensive offering on their menu. A friend and I split it and only liked two out of the five drinks that it comes with. One is literally undrinkably bad.

It’s fine but definitely over rated. I ordered the fried green tomatoes, thigh high biscuits and macaroni and cheese. None of it was outstanding, none of it was bad. I think it’s worth a try but not a must do experience. If u r hungry and can get a seat within 30 minutes it’s ok. The thigh high biscuits were very sweet. I tried my daughter’s chicken tenders and thought those were better.

Pros:

Decent food and a large serving

Cons:

Apps r expensive but the entrees were reasonable

Hi! We visited a couple weeks ago. This was my 4th visit here and unfortunately may be my last. It was an extremely rushed dinner and felt like our server was trying to upsell us on everything.

Pros:

The food was still really good.

Cons:

Felt rushed Server was pushy and fake

1st time visit, I am from the south and can say was not impressed. We had the thigh high chicken biscuits, gator bites and hiummingbird cake. The biscuits were hard and dry. The crumbled and were hard to eat. The chicken was good and the gator bites were awesome, but the hummingbird cake was missing moisture. I didnt taste any pecans or pineapple and coconut that is traditionally in hummingbird cake but even with the nuts left out , it was still very dry. For what you pay for the food I was expecting much better. The manager did reduce our bill so I am thankful for that.

Pros:

Great gator bites and chicken

Cons:

horrible biscuits and hummingbird cake and no changing table in the restrooms.

Be cautious about booking Chef Art especially if you have an important event. They will not hesitate to cancel your reservation after they book a big party. They've done this twice to us. They don't care about the hundreds of diners who have made reservations months out. This latest was going to be our wedding anniversary. I had booked Chef Art months before. Less than two weeks before our reservation I get a canned email from them "apologizing" and saying to look elsewhere. Of course, they include their sister restaurant Splitsville as a choice. There was nothing else available in Disney Springs for us. We're done with Homecomin' and their sister restaurant. Over the years, we've eaten at a lot of restaurants in Disney Springs and none of them cancelled our reservation out of greed like Homecomin' has. So, be hesitant about making reservations at this place.

Pros:

Decent food

Cons:

They don't care about tourists or even their regulars

This is my unpopular Disney opinion: Homecomin' is...fine. So many people seem to love it, and I frankly just don't get it. The atmosphere is cute, and the servers are, of course, fantastic, but the food itself is nothing to write home about. I find the flavors boring and quite bland. In talking with others who aren't crazy about the food, the common denominator is that we are all Southern, so perhaps in making a menu to please the masses, some of the flavor and spice has been lost. I'm definitely willing to give it another chance in case I went on an off day, but I won't be scouring for reservations at 6 AM EST 60 days prior to arrival.

Pros:

service is excellent atmosphere--I love an open kitchen

Cons:

food is lacking flavor

I had been so looking forward to dining at Homecomin'. What a disappointment. It began with them calling me by the wrong name to be seated and then acting like it was my fault for not answering. Our table was "wobbly"...waitress tried to slide a coaster under the leg...no help. The table top doubled as a "lazy susan". We could sping the entire top around. I ordered the fried chicken and mashed potatoes. My son ordered a cuban sandwich. The food arrived luke warm at best. The amount of grease on my plate from the fried chicken was just gross. The mashed potatoes tasted like wallpaper paste and the drop biscuit tasted 8 days old. My son said his sandwich was decent. Yes, I should have sent my food back but our experience up to that point indicated that things would not improve. We ordered moonshine cake for dessert...they must have forgotten to add the moonshine...we got a really dry pound cake.
To top off the experience, my son starts laughing out loud...I ask what was so funny. He said, "mom, didn't you hear that?" I said "no, what?" He told me manager was on his device telling whomever that he had 2 cases of Miralax in his office and he would bring one case up. That is something that patrons what to hear about while eating. What a waste of time and money. Granted, I might be a little biased being from the south and Kentucky but I would have given anything to have had Kentucky Fried Chicken instead of what was on my plate. Never. Ever. Again.

Pros:

Nothing.

Cons:

Everything.

If you know what real Southern cooking is, then this place will NOT impress. For us it was more like "fancy Southern" on par with Paula Deans restaurants. My friend got the bbq and had to actually send it back because it was so far from any kind of bbq that she had ever had that she couldn't eat it. Now granted she is a picky eater, but how off does the sauce have to be to ruin bbq? I got the fried chicken sliders and they were good but nothing to rave about. What I was waiting for was the highly touted Hummingbird Cake! We got a slice to share and what a let down! I don't know what I was expecting, but this wasn't it. The name suggests that it's so light and fluffy but this cake was thick and heavy and kind of gluey in the mouth. We didn't finish it. The flavor was of a frosted banana nut bread. I wish I had tried the Moonshine cake instead but it didn't sound different enough. I like to try things that are out of the ordinary. Maybe this was an off night and I'll try it again I'm sure, but next time I'll know what to avoid. Very expensive but I have to add that to the end of EVERY review I write for anything Disney related. It's a given.

Pros:

Not many come to mind.

Cons:

Nothing like home cooked food from the south.

I really wanted to love Chef Art's Homecomin' but I came away a bit dissapointed overall. We ordered moonshine cocktails that were good, and the fried okra appetizer was very good, but the main course, the fried chicken was very disappointing. Although crispy it was dry, like it had been under a heat lamp for an extended period, and the flavor was bland, like they'd forgotten to add any spice at all. The mashed potatoes, which our server said would be rich and creamy, tasted like they were made with water. The macaroni and cheese side, which costs extra, was also highly recommend by the waiter as the best we would ever eat. Wrong...they were not creamy at all, they were greasy, like the butter and cheese separated, and also dry. We'd looked forward to eating here since they opened at Disney Springs, and we might return for a cocktail and appetizer. But we won't return for a meal. The bland food is not worth the high prices.

Pros:

fried okra appetizer and moonshine cocktails.

Cons:

bland and dry fried chicken, greasy mac and cheese, bland watery potatoes, and a server who kept pushing to upgrade for "an additional cost"
