This has always been one of our favorite spots to eat! It is one of our "must-dos" on every trip. However, this last visit was enough to keep us from returning for quite sometime. The service we received was simply awful. The server not only served my lunch wrong TWICE, but was not even upset over it. When the sandwich came out wrong a second time, she never came over to ensure that the order was correct. By the time she did come back to our table, my entire party was finished their lunch. When she asked how she could compensate me, I simply said that I would take another drink and not have to pay for it. She complied. However, after waiting much too long for her to come back to give us our check, she handed me a check for 2 drinks and an order of chips placed by another party member at my table. I told her that after getting my sandwich wrong TWICE, I did not expect to pay for 2 drinks and chips that didn't belong to me. She said she couldn't do anything about it. So I asked for the manager, and she told me that "the Manager was in a meeting." We paid but it didn't sit well with me. So I went to the front of the restaurant and asked another waiter for the Manager. The Manager came out and I told her what had transpired. She was mortified, and quickly reimbursed me 2 drinks and an order of chips. The Disney magic in the customer service is slowly disappearing. Thank heavens the Manager had enough grace to be embarrassed about a simple sandwich served wrong TWICE! If you do decide to have a meal at the Grand FL café, you could leave hungry and disappointed.

Pros:

nice restaurant manager

Cons:

Service

I had incredibly high hopes for Grand Floridian Cafe after seeing and reading about it being a "hidden gem". We were seated almost immediately, and everything on the menu sounded incredible. However, things started to take a turn for the worst. It took 20 minutes after we were seated to get our drink order put in, and another 15 for us to actually get our drinks. Once we ordered, we waited for close to an hour only for our food to be brought out almost cold. The Lobster Thermidore Burger was on my food bucket list for this trip, and I was completely disappointed. The lobster felt like I was chewing on rubber, the sauce had no flavor, and the patty was cold. I thought my french fries would be my saving grace, but they were all soggy and cold. The Caesar salad was the best part of my meal, and I believe I only felt this way because I was so hungry. My sister ordered the Steak and Scallops, only to find quite a bit of sand in her scallops. The steak was average for your typical table-service steak. My boyfriend ordered the Salmon (which we had also heard high praise about), and it was just average. It then took another 30 minutes after we were finished eating to get our check, 20 minutes for our waitress to take it, and another 20 for us to get it back. I feel as if we wasted our table service credits on a meal that was worse than most quick-service locations. I am so disappointed in Grand Floridian Cafe.

Pros:

Convenient location by monorail

Cons:

Slow service, bland food

I ordered a BLT which was not on the menu but was suggested by the waiter. It was a large sandwich with a lot of bacon and half a head of lettuce.

I'd lunch there again, but I'd be more careful about what I ordered. Also, the restaurant was virtually empty and it took a LONG time for my BLT to come out.

Pros:

Good lemonade and nice environment.

Cons:

Slow service...

We took Molly's advice and left MK for lunch at the GF Cafe. We loved walking around the GF and glad we went, but were pretty disappointed by our lunch. The options weren't super exciting, our food was just ok, service was slow, and we weren't impressed.

Pros:

beautiful atmosphere

Cons:

food was underwhelming, slow service

DH and I enjoyed lunch here during our recent stay. We were seated right away, though drinks took longer to arrive than they should have. Our server was quite friendly and attentive once drinks had arrived, so maybe we were just seated at a busy time. We both had Caesar salads, mine with shrimp and his with chicken. Both were excellent. I wouldn't travel to the GF to dine here, but if you're staying here and would like a nice quiet lunch, this is a nice choice.

Pros:

Relaxed atmosphere, great service

Cons:

limited lunch menu

Had dinner here the first night of our trip. Server was excellent, and offered a sample of the gazpacho (which was excellent). Solid dinners all around. Highly recommend if you are staying at or happen to be in the GF.

Pros:

Good food, excellent service

This restaurant is a must-do midday break from Magic Kingdom. We had reservations for 1 pm for our family of seven. It was the perfect time to escape the heat and crowds of the park and take the quick monorail ride over to the Grand Floridian. The fried chicken and waffles were a huge hit, although the sriracha glaze was not as flavorful as we had hoped. The chipotle Bloody Mary made up for the flavor deficit. It was on the spicy side for Disney and had a nice kick. Overall a great lunch.

Pros:

Excellent service; very attentive to food allergies; convenient table service near Magic Kingdom. Breakfast menu still available at lunch.

Cons:

Caesar Salad was just OK.

We had a nice dinner here. The sirloin steak and scallops were quite good. My son had the lobster thermidor burger and really enjoyed it. Husband had steak that was ok - just a little tough cut of meat.

Pros:

Great break and escape on a Magic Kingdom day. Good service. Well managed.
