This is a total waist of time and money. I purchased for my trip on November 12th to the 17th 2021 and it never worked. I would select the rides that I wanted and when we got to them it would not work. The cast members told me to contact Disney who you could never reach by phone. I went to the hotel desk at the Coronado springs resort where I was saying and they kept telling to change my password. Finally one person contact the IT department and said to change my email address and password and it still didn't work. I spent hours to fix the problem. I paid over $120 and never used it once. I told the hotel desk I wanted a refund as it is not working and they said to email Disney when I get home and request a refund. I emailed them on 11/19/2021 and again today 12/02/2021 and no one has responded to me. I have seen on many blogs that a lot of people are having the same problem. I would advise you not to purchase Genie +.

Pros:

I have nothing positive to say as it did not work. Disney need to work out the bugs before selling this.

Cons:

The Cons are they are selling a very misleading product.

I didn’t actually find the free version of Genie very helpful. I was really hoping it would be because I was looking forward to an itinerary being made for me, but it wasn’t useful at all for me.

Pros:

It’s free.

Cons:

Not very user friendly

I think the free system of Genie is decent. Personally I would not use it since I already know the exact things I want to do when I am in the parks, but if I were a family that does not know exactly what they want to do, then I would recommend it for them.

Pros:

helpful can see future wait times can recommend you to go to attractions that have low wait times

Cons:

usually not accurate could send you to something you do not want to do

Disney Genie (the free part) worked well for us. It kept track of our dining reservations and gave us suggestions for things to do, some of which we took and some we didn't. It's also nice to know what the wait times are for the rides.

Pros:

Great for Mobile Ordering and reminders for dining reservations Gives wait times for attractions

Cons:

You spend a lot of time on the phone Often wants you to go to something you aren\\'t interested in so it\\'s not really a good substitute for knowledge of the parks.

The free Genie didn't really give me suggestions based on my interests, but it was very accurate with the wait times.

Pros:

Accurate wait times for standby

Cons:

No real suggestions or itinerary

Disney Genie is probably a great tool for people who don't know what they want to do while in the parks, but for someone like me who subscribes to Allears and Disney Food Blog it's just not very beneficial. I use it to see my reservations and show times, but not for planning. I did find that the forecasted wait times weren't always super accurate, so I didn't see the benefit of planning my visit around that, but I could see were forecasting times this year could be challenging. For me it's a great digital itinerary, but you kind of already need to know what you want to do as the recommendations are based on you choosing rides and restaurants you want to experience. One thing I found odd is that no matter how many times I removed a recommended ride/experience from my list it would never go away. It would be nice if that could be fixed.

Pros:

Great digital itinerary Good if you have an idea of what you want to experience

Cons:

Forecasted wait times not always accurate Need to already have an idea of the experiences you want to enjoy When I remove recommended experiences they stay on my list

I believe the idea behind the free Genie service is a good one, but what I have seen on a larger scale since the reopening are good ideas with poor execution. Disney Genie could be helpful to those who aren't familiar with the parks, but I have had more clients describe it as "glitchy at best". I haven't seen the free Genie system really tailor experiences by preference like the paid system does.

Pros:

Good starting point for people who aren't familiar with the parks. Helps them look through what is offered in each park and prioritize things for their day.

Cons:

Glitches frequently

As it is right now it is fine. It has quirks, like all things do - but it functions. It is definitely not something you want to play with for the first time on your park day! You have to be on top of those suggestions constantly because it’ll send you literally anything it thinks you want to do until you make it stop. But the goal was to provide information about wait times and give recommendations and I think it does exactly that.

Pros:

When I need information quickly - it has it. Once you learn how it works it’s much easier to navigate.

Cons:

Sometimes the suggested activities get in the way - especially over your top picks.

The Genie service is "new" however, I feel I have always used My Disney Experience app the same way I've used Genie, I check wait times mostly and I use the map. I do like the Genie has all the options available, being Genie+ and Individual Lightining Lane options so you don't have to pay to try to plan around it all.

Pros:

Tip board is helpful to know what's around you and experiences coming up. I also like that you can pick favorites so that Genie might let you know when good time to do that experience and seeing projections of wait times/ busy times is also helpful.

Cons:

It can be stressful and take away from your experience to check or be on your phone all day. I also lost a lot of battery on my phone the days I used Genie+ but it was expected.

Very helpful way to plan our recent trip. Added with the DAS (my son and I both have severe anxiety and are on the spectrum) ... We just entered in what we were interested in doing and seeing and the app walked us through a perfect day in each park that we visited.

Pros:

Very helpful

Cons:

Glitchy at times
