Food was mediocre, atmosphere a bit tired, but the fish tank makes up for it.

Pros:

Aquarium in dining room which is very entertaining

Cons:

Food was priced fairly high, and just ok.

This has been the worst vacation and money waisted. To top off this experience, we ate at the Coral Reed restaurant at 6:35pm last night. My 5 yr old son was eating his jello dessert and spit out a shrimp tail that was mixed into the dessert. I’m thankful he didn’t choke on it nor was allergic to shellfish. I alerted the waiter and all he did was replace the dessert. This is our last experience with Disney. After spending every year for the last ten years at a Disney theme park at least twice a year, it’s definitely not the Disney it once was. This is shameful and puts others at risk. Disneys quality has reach an all time low for us!!!

Pros:

None

Cons:

Cross contamination

The menu is very limited, the food is terrible, the employees act like they don't want to be there, the manager was condescending and rude.

Pros:

The appearance is good.

Cons:

Menu is limited, food is terrible, service is rude.

I could not believe the poor quality of the meal I was served at the Coral Reef this past May. A simple grilled salmon was over cooked and tasteless! My daughter’s shrimp and “creamy” grits wasn’t much better. I should have sent it back but didn’t want to cause at fuss at the beginning of our vacation. Never again!

Pros:

Scenery

Cons:

Food, with poor service second (lack of attentiveness).

Unless you are a mega seafood buff, this restaurant is probably a skip. The draw is most certainly not the food, but that amazing view of the aquarium. However, only a row of tables are actually adjacent to it. The majority of the tables are in the middle or back of the restaurant with more of a stadium seating kind of deal which - while you can still see inside the tank - is not nearly as enticing. Not to mention you can just visit The Seas With Nemo and Friends and stroll right on up to the tank glass to be face to face with the same animals. Circling back to the food - it's not the best but not the worst. I'd liken it to chain restaurant quality, but at much steeper prices. With all of the amazing dining EPCOT has to offer, Coral Reef isn't nearly as sofishticated as it should be for the price, and you want to make sure you're getting shrimply the best bang for you buck.

Pros:

For those few tables right up along the tank - amazing views of sea critters.

Cons:

Food is only okay and you may not be seated right next to the tank.

I know there are supply issues and Disney is trying to trim it's budget, but this is NOT the way to go if you want guests returning again. I'm very sad to have to write a negative review of what was one of our favorite places to eat at Epcot. We have eaten at Coral Reef many times over the years and it's always been excellent, not last week. Other than the lobster bisque being delicious but now a skimpy sized portion, the rest of the meals our group had were sub-par and we could have had a better meal for much less money at a Golden Corral off property. I was embarrassed to have brought friends there who had never been. My husbands prime rib was mostly fat, there were no other steak options, the portions for shrimp and grits were also almost child like in size. The service was excellent, so we didn't make a complaint on the spot, but I have since. I don't expect much from our extremely polite complaints, I hate having to ever make a complaint. Who knows, maybe enough people will say the same thing and changes might happen. I was told by a cast member that the portion size cuts were because of the supply problems, which would be fine if our entire meal hadn't been so much more than just six months ago.

Pros:

Beautiful setting for a meal! Service is always wonderful. The lobster bisque is amazing.

Cons:

Very expensive meal, lacking in quality and portion size.

First time dining here, a little surprised that the menu was so limited… but they had ribeye on the menu which is usually a good sign. Sad that they can only make it MEDIUM, MEDIUM WELL, or WELL. I attempted to order medium rare and it was explained to me that it’s already cooked and when they re-heat it. Very disappointed the steak is not cooked to order. For $35 I’d hope it was made to order.

Pros:

The Aquarium

Cons:

You can only order your steak Medium or Medium well because it is already cooked -_- It’s extremely noisy inside and there is a long wait for everything. Menu is extremely limited, and wait they do have is mediocre.

Chose Coral Reef today off of the walk up waitlist. Restaurant was nearly empty and they sat us where the kiddos couldn’t see the aquarium without standing on chairs. (I should have asked to be moved but I didn’t want to seem rude.) Our server was very slow but lovely and we did enjoy him. He was nice and patient with the little ones. They were able to do some substitutions to suit my sons and husbands palates. My husband had the salmon which was fine. I had the roasted half chicken which was also just fine. (The saffron sauce had good flavor but was incredibly salty.) My sons chicken breast was raw and the server took care of it, so no big issue there. My children enjoyed the jello cups very much. For 4 people with no appetizers and no alcohol purchased it was $120. I would have rather spent the money on a steak from Le Cellier.

Pros:

Neat aquarium, nice server

Cons:

Slow service, expensive food that was just so-so, limited menu options

The idea of the aquarium was great but we were disappointed with the menu selection. Even though it’s obviously a seafood restaurant, there weren’t many other non fish options especially for the kids. It was tough with our picky eater and it was extremely cold in there so overall we had a bad experience.

Pros:

Environment

Cons:

Limited menu

the fish tank is amazing, but that is really the only good thing i have to say about this restaurant. the food was mediocre and the servers werent very magical. my husband actually told me he never wants to eat here again because it was not worth the price. i think the fish tank is great though, so i give this rating above average.

Pros:

fish tank is cool

Cons:

pricey, mediocre food, average restaurant
