My husband and I were so disappointed with Boma. We chose Boma after reading all the great reviews. Our server was very unprofessional. She actually counted another table's tip as she took our order. The food was fine. It seemed like a buffet you could get at a Golden Corral. Save your money and do lunch at Sanaa instead of breakfast at Boma.
Pros:
potatoes, juice, coffeeCons:

If you have a big appetite at breakfast it is worth the money. Also if you like to try new cusines.
Pros:
food choice POG juiceCons:
Service was a little slow and we didn't get a refill on our drinks.Reviewed by gthurber Review Date: 11/11/2013

Our party of five all agreed we would go back to Boma for the food but the service was the worst of our trip. After our server got us drinks, we did not see her for an hour. Many tables around us were filled with dirty dishes. Two ladies who were seated near us, realized their seats were dirty after their hostess left. They tried to find someone to clean their table and could not find anyone. They ended up cleaning off the seats themselves. I hope, based on all the good reviews I have read, that we just hit Boma on a very "off" morning and their service would match the quality of their food.
Pros:
Very good food.Cons:

First time at Boma this trip. Previously have been to breakfast at Cape May, Chef Mickey's and Trails End. This was probably the best and had the most options of the three. The only turnoff and this was possibly because we visited on a Sunday, was the huge buffet line. The other 3, especially Cape May and Chef Mickey's don't seem to really have large lines that I have seen, more of just going and grabbing, but when we were at Boma we waited in line, especially for our first trip to move through the first section where the meat is. After the first trip we went here and there without being in line but it was difficult to do so at the beginning where most of the hot items were. At the end where the baked goods, breads and fruits were you could just walk up. I thought the food was good to average. Made to order omelet's were good and made quite quickly. I also enjoyed the caramel rolls with caramel pecan topping to pour yourself as well as the bread pudding (French toast flavor I think?). Overall it was good, but $100 for 3 of us (which I was expecting, but ouch!)
Pros:
Different options. Omelet bar.Cons:

Even though we aren’t big buffet people in “real” life, we did eat at several buffets on our Dec ‘17 trip. We were staying at AKL so I really wanted to try Boma. I loved all the different unique choices that you can’t get normally. My husband thought the food was good, but not amazing. He eats meat and I am a vegetarian, so our food selections were very different. I was excited for my daughter to try the Simba waffles, but they actually were kind of burnt and tough. But many other things were delicious!
Pros:
Unique food, unique atmosphere, generally good foodCons:

This is a breakfast buffer and as such did its job well. We ate there before half of my daughters relatives went home and there were a lot of good food comments. I only gave it a 7 because it is just a buffet even if it did its job well

My family of 5 had breakfast reservations here on the 4th of July at 9:15 am. This was the meal I was most looking forward to. The food was great, and the selection of offerings huge. There was so much to choose from, and everything we ate was delicious, and constantly being replenished.
However, our server was AWFUl. She spilled a pitcher of juice all over my daughter's right side, and then almost did it a second time down her back. She wasn't very apologetic, and it put a damper on the entire meal. She then proceeded to ignore us for the rest of the meal, while our plates stacked up and our drinks remained empty.
I later spoke to the manager, who was very apologetic, and credited our room charges $50, to cover the cost to buy my daughter a new outfit. This was very generous.
I would definitely give this place another try, simply because the food was so good...

First time eating Boma for breakfast (previous trip we had the dinner). Everything we ate was good. I loved the scrambled eggs with meat, cheese and probably a couple of other things I couldn't identify but I had seconds so it must have been good. Pecan rolls-awesome. Even my semi-picky husband had no complaints about the food. This place always seems crowded and the line can get a bit long but otherwise a nice experience--if a bit expensive. Less than Chef Mickey's so if you don't require the characters this might be worth a try. And to top it off the resort is lovely to explore while you are there.
Pros:
Good, hot food and plenty of itCons:

Hubby and I ate breakfast here on April 20, 2016. I had read a lot about how amazing this resort is and thought I'd book a meal here and that would give us a chance to explore. Our reservation was at 9:30am. We checked in a little early and only waited about 5 minutes for a table. All of the food we tried from the buffet was good and the atmosphere was very nice. However, it's not something we'd do again because it can be time consuming when trying to travel between resorts and it's not a resort we'd likely stay at. I guess we didn't have the same awe struck impressions as others have had. Not saying it wasn't nice. It just didn't do much for us. Although some of the furnishings in the lobby were beautiful.

I enjoyed the variety of food at the buffet, both African inspired and not. My husband and I both loved the french toast pudding. Yum! We didn't have to wait too long after checking in, maybe 5 minutes. They also have the best juice (some passion fruit mixture if I remember correctly).
I have a peanut and tree nut allergy and the server was very happy to contact the kitchen to have one of the chefs come out and point out which foods would be off limits. I'm usually pretty good about knowing what to avoid, but I appreciated the assistance very much.
I will say that it was very busy and kinda loud while we were there, but it was an open area so it kinda echoed. The lines at the buffet were long and didn't move very fast. You definitely won't be able to have your meal fast here.
Also, I was looking forward to trying those Zebra dome things every raves about, and they weren't there! So sad!
