We dined at San Angel Inn recently. It is one of our favorites at Epcot and this visit did not disappoint. We all had the Sopa Azteca (traditional tortilla soup) that is presented and served tableside. It's delicious! We also all once again had our favorite entree, Pollo a la Rajas (grilled chicken with rice in a cream sauce). This dish is so wonderful and always excellent. Desserts here are terrific as well. My favorite is the Crema Bavaria. I highly recommend San Angel Inn not only for the beautiful and romantic atmosphere but also for the food. Also, we had the best server at our trip here, Marion. He was so friendly and a joy to talk to. He also works at Be Our Guest.

maybe a little too dark

Though the atmosphere is a quite dark, it's this way on purpose to give the illusion of being at an outdoor market at night and really is wonderful! The food is fantastic and as many of the restaurants in Epcot you can share many of the meals. The small steak tacos are great and we, of course, love the chips and different salsas that come with the table. After your meal, give the boat ride a try. Never a wait and quite relaxing.

Dark, unfriendly server

We had DELICIOUS food and I had a wonderful margarita (passion fruit) but though I like the atmosphere, it is VERY dark and our server wasn't at all friendly. We did luck out with a seat right in by the water though, so that was fun.

We have eaten here before, a couple of years ago and so we knew what to expect. We had lunch last Monday, 3/11/13, and walked right up without reservations, with minimal wait time. Their food was not a disappointment at all, we loved it! DH and I both had the Traditional Mexican Lunch, and DS17 had the Enchiladas Verdes de Pollo (chicken enchiladas with green salsa). Our server, Jorge, was disappointing though. He barely paid any attention to us, left us waiting FOREVER after taking our drink orders, and only checked on us 1 time throughout our meal. We literally had to flag him down for our drink refills and he never offered us a refill on our water glasses at all.
I really do love this restaurant, it feels like you're transported to an outdoor cafe right in Mexico.
I will think twice, however, after the service that we received, before going back again.

Poor Lighting/Childrens Menu

My children and I ate lunch here and it was one of the best meals we had at Disney. The chips and salsa were delicious. I ordered the steak tacos and my son ordered quesadillas and both were excellent. The only downside is the lighting. It was perfect to set the mood, but made it difficult to see the menu. Also, the children's menu only offered Mexican dishes. It would be nice to see pbj or something ordinary for picky eaters.

My family of 8 dined here for the first time in January 2013. After reviewing the menus, we opted for lunch instead of dinner. We had the Disney Dining Plan and considered this a great value.
We were seated at our reservation time, and our server was really great. She was friendly and explained all of the dishes to us.
Most of us ordered the Traditional Mexican Lunch, and a few ordered ala carte. The chips and salsas came out first, and they were delish. The waitress brought out our soup next, and the presentation was very pretty. The entrees followed, and everything was delicious. The desserts looked wonderful too, but most of us were so full that we couldn't even touch dessert.
The atmosphere in the restaurant was very pretty. If I had to pick one thing to criticize, it would be that it's a little dark in there.
Definitely a place we'll visit again!

We love eating at San Angel so made reservations for 2/7/13. This time did not disappoint! Our server Christy was fantastic! The meals we ordered were delicious! I got the pollo a las rojas, husband got the carne asada and my MIL got the pork dish (can't remember the name). Everyone loved the meal! Dolce De Leche ice cream finished off the meal! Can't wait to eat here again on our next trip to Disney World!

While on our annual holiday Christmas trip from New York, we decided to dine at the San Angel Inn for lunch. We did not have an ADR and this was on January 3rd, so we were pretty impressed that we found seating. The dips were very good as was the food. Our server was attentive and very nice. My DD had the soup Azteca and she thought this was very good. My DS and DW ordered off the menu as did I. Our server informed us that we could order chicken or cheese Quesadilla's. These were very good and I do recommend this eatery.

This was our 2nd time eating here for dinner. We've always enjoyed it in general. Like all Disney restaurants, it is a bit over priced but we had a free DDP so cost was not an issue. Service was good and timely. Quality and selection of food was good as well.

This was our 2nd time at the San Angel Inn and we enjoyed ourselves once again.
We ate there for lunch and it was the only sit down restaurant that didn't take nearly 2 hours to finish! Most of us ordered the traditional lunch which came with tortilla soup, chicken enchiladas verde and belgian creme dessert with fruit. Everything was excellent and the chips and salsa had a great "bite" which I loved. We also had a great waitress who was very helpful and efficient.
They have changed the restaurant a bit but the only drawback for me is still the lighting. My mom had a mini flashlight otherwise we would have hardly been able to see our menus!

First restaurant we visited today on the first day of our 11-day vacation. We had reservations at 2:50, we came a bit early (around quarter to) and we were seated right away.
The ambiance was fantastic. We managed to get seated right on the water's edge, getting a view of the passenger's on the Grand Fiesta Tour. The only downside to it was the lighting, it was dimmed for ambiance, which made it very difficult to read the menu. However, I think it the long run it was worth it for it to be a little dark because the full ambiance really does pay off (plus, there is a small oil candle dimly burning in the middle of the table).
There was four members in my party, and we are drastically split in to two extremes: Two very picky eaters and two who are willing to try anything.
The picky eaters (myself and sister (12)) both thought the meal was excellent. My sister ordered a Cesar salad, but not wanting anchovies. Since the anchovies are mixed into the dressing, the waitress was quick to accommodate a small package of Italian dressing for her. I ordered Tostados de Tinga without beans. I had to pick onion off the top (as onion was not advertised on the menu)but they were on the top and easy to find. This menu choice was gusty for me, I don't regret it. It was delicious, I'm very glad I ordered it.
On the gutsy side of the table, there was my dad and other sister (16). The two split a shrimp cocktail, Dad ordered the Cesar salad (not afraid of anchovies) and sister ordered the tortilla soup. The shrimp cocktail was very interesting, the shrimp arriving at the table already swimming in what appeared to be marinara sauce. They both thought it was delicious. Dad enjoyed the salad. My sister's soup was also very interesting, arrived with all of the soup items in a bowl, and they proceeded to pour the broth over top. She also thought this was very tasty.
Overall, we're very glad we chose to eat here, and would definitely recommend it.

The only downside is that we had a table with three loud, drunk people behind us who really ruined the overall experience. Food was amazing, plentiful and delicious. Service was attentive but not smothering. Can't wait to go back!

We ate at San Angel on October 4th for dinner. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The service was good... our waiter was very nice and handled our food allergy request with no problems at all. We had the Carne Asada and Pola a las Rajas. Both were very good. The desserts were wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant.
