Pros:
Cons:

Ate here in the first week of November, and it was great as always. We love the ribs, but do miss the corn muffins that were part of the meal, but the coleslaw that is now added was good. I also like that the condiments and utensils, etc, and now located in the seating areas.

Pros: good barbeque
Cons: not much of a kids selection (like most quick service)

Ate lunch here in 10/09. Both husband and I got the barbeque sandwich with cole slaw rather than beans. The sandwich was juicy and flavorful. The sauce was very good too. Kid's meal was the same ol' fair. I was certain that my boys were going to turn into a hot dog or hamburger before it was over with. We did not have a problem finding seating but, then again, the park wasn't very busy that day.

Pros: Food Quality and Portions
Cons: Biting Ducks!!!!!!

We ate there the last week of October. Having eaten their before, our family of 4 knew the portions were generous. So we banked 2 counter services and only used 2 here to share the food for lunch. We ordered an order of ribs and half a chicken. It was plenty of food for my husband, daughter (12) and son (10).

The only problem were the ducks! We've eaten here 3 times before and didn't have the aggressive duck problem as this last time. And, we didn't attempt to feed them. My daughter just had her hand on the edge of her chair, and a duck reached up and bit her finger! Then later, she had her hand in her lap near the chair and a duck bit her again! And we saw a toddler in a high chair next to us look down and point at a duck and it ran up and bit her finger too.

Pros: food
Cons: nothing

My husband and I ordered the ribs and our daughter the chicken. We shared both and thought everything was delicious. This was our favorite counter service meal. The chocolate mousse for dessert was yummy. Loved sitting outside looking at Mt. Kilamanjaro in the shade by the water edge.

Pros: Pulled pork sandwich
Cons: Only outside seating

We ate here on our first day in Animal Kingdom for lunch. We were on the meal plan and my DH ordered the smoked turkey breast sandwich and a chocolate cake while I ordered the pulled pork sandwich along with the chocolate cake. We also ordered a side of fries. We both loved our meals and while DH never ate his dessert I liked it although it was a little rich (even for me). My only complaint was there didn't seem to be any inside seating. While we were lucky and got a table on the deck overlooking Everest we would of liked to sit inside since it was in the 90s and extremely humid for October. Not a huge deal and it certainly won't stop us from coming back here next year.

Pros: Great Food--Price
Cons: --------

Hi, first time my wife Dolores and I tried this counter service, and we really liked it. We both had the 1/2 slab of ribs with baked beans and coleslaw, and it was really tasty(all 3 items), and for the money we would say that is easily one of the best deals on property. Lot of table seating available on side, and a nice place to take a break in the day.

Pros: baked beans, onion rings
Cons: out of control ducks

We ate here in early October. Both my husband and I ordered the pulled pork sandwich which came with baked beans. We also split an order of onion rings. The baked beans and onion rings were delicious! The sandwich was tasty but a little dry. Neither of us put on the extra BBQ sauce that is available at the condiment bar though.

The ducks here are out of control. All seating is outside and the ducks walk around like the own the place. We had 3 or 4 ducks under our tiny table for two throughout our entire meal. It made me quite nervous as I was hoping they wouldn't peck at us. A few tables away, a little girl started screaming crying. Hopefully she was not nipped at.

One other note- most counter service restaurants will let you sub your dessert for something else if you are on the dining plan such as a bottle of water, extra side of fries, etc. Flame Tree BBQ does not allow substitutions- you must get a dessert.

Pros: Food and seating
Cons: none

Ate here on 10-8-09. A must do on every trip for our family. Food is great AND if you have an early lunch, you can have a private lunch overlooking the water. This place doesn't seem to get crowded until noon. Ribs are great, and so is the chicken. ENJOY!!!!

Pros: The food was very good.
Cons: The service was painfully slow.

The ribs and the chicken were exceptionally good for counter service, quite a difference from what you get at Cosmic Ray's. This was easily the best counter service meal we had at WDW. The only problem was that the service was very slow. There baskets of ribs and chicken that were piling up and some of the employees were standing around conversing and not filling orders. I waited 10 minutes for my lunch to be served. It really doesn't bother me too much, but I know that others would not be happy with that.

Pros:
Cons:

My family had lunch here Sept. 27th. Food was quite good.My husband got the pulled pork sand. and thought it was very good. My kids typical hot dog/fries. I got the BBQ chicken salad. WOW it was really good. Good size and comes with a great tasting vinagret dressing. Perfect on a hot day for lunch. I will be back next time just for the salad.

Pros: good food - great view of Expedition Everest
Cons: long walk to find seating

Ate here during the week of 9/27. We found a table that faced Mount Everest - what a beautiful view! There were a lot of ducks around, but we ignored them and they didn't bother us. The ribs looked very dry, but I think that is because they are made with a rub, not a sauce. They tasted great, not dry at all. The cole slaw side was very good and I liked the beans, although my husband didn't. DD12 got the turkey sandwich - she didn't care for it. I think that's because it came on a multigrain roll and was fresh turkey, not deli meat. Well, that's a 12 year old for ya! The kids liked the chocolate cake for dessert. I got the key lime pie, which is my favorite, but I didn't care for it.
Overall, I would come here again.

Pros: quick, taste
Cons: no inside dining area

We ate lunch at Flame Tree around 11:15 a.m. I think this helped us beat the lunch crowd. We ordered and the food was served within 15 minutes. We found a table in one of the pavilions. Husband and I had ribs. They tasted great but were hard to cut with a plastic knife. They kids had chicken legs, grapes, and cookies. Each kid's meal was served with two chicken legs, and it was a welcome replacement for the typical chicken nuggets and hot dog offerings. The kids also enjoyed the birds that pecked around under the tables. A cast member cleaned tables, chairs, and kept the birds at bay. It was very hot on the day we were there and an inside dining area would have been awesome.

Pros: great seating on the water
Cons: food, service

I had read the reviews and made the family stop here for lunch on 10/4/09. The lines weren't that long, even at 12:20, but it was SLOW. The family in front of us had been in line, but waited until they were standing at the register to look at the menu...then ordered in three different lots so had to be rung up three times...UGH. Kids and I found a great table on the water with a nice breeze and DH brought the food. Hot dog for kids was fine with milk, carrots and grapes - perfect. But the rest was not great. DH had the half chicken, which was small, a little dry and very hard to cut. I had the pulled pork sandwich, which was OK, but also very dry. Barbeque sauce and beans are very sweet. Received sweet tea when we ordered unsweet so had to traipse back up to the counter and change and go all the way back down. We forgot to order the picnic in the park in time but will try that instead next time.

Pros: fast, GREAT FOOD
Cons: none

I read reviews before going to Disney and had this one on my list after reading about the pulled pork. Probably one of THE best BBQ pulled pork sandwiches I have EVER had! My dad had decided to eat light because of the heat and got the fruit plate. After hearing me rave, he wished he'd gotten the sandwich!!

Pros: Quick and tasty
Cons: Not enough seating

Ribs and pulled pork there is no way you can go wrong. Key lime pie was really good. Seating hard to find and hopefully no one has a problem with birds since they were walking around just waiting for somebody to drop food.
