Pros: Great sweeping tour of Australia. Disney service and detail in all aspects.
Cons: n/a

We did the trip in Fall, 2010. This division of the Disney family truly lives up to Walt's vision of providing a vacation that the entire family can enjoy together. Our group of 18 ranged from age 7-70. Our group included families with kids, grandparents, couples, and singles. Great mix of people, and nobody ever felt left out. The kids were made to feel special, but they were not the focus of the trip by any means. Remember that all the activities are designed to be enjoyed by all ages, from the grandkids to the grandparents!

As you would expect from Disney, all the details are taken care of for you. Ponchos when it rained, bottled water/snacks when you need a little something, even a fly net for your face when the Outback Flies started buzzing!

The upside of group travel is that you get to see and do so much more than you would be able to fit in on your own. Plus, the red carpet is really rolled out when the Disney group walks in! Most of the tours and events we did were private events just for our group. For example, Hartley's Croc Farm was closed, and they opened just for our group that night. We felt like VIPs everywhere we went.
The downside of this type of group travel is that you may not get to spend as long on your favorite actvity. You are on the group schedule and you stick to the group schedule. There is scheduled free time, so you can either rest up or go on your own adventure.

As the previous review mentioned, the SkyRail trip to Kuranda Village is no longer in the itinerary. We did that on our free afternoon, and it was my favorite part of the trip! (I would call this a MUST DO, and I think Disney should add it back in to their plan.) There is also free time in Sydney for those who want to do the bridge climb or explore on their own.

Disney recommends that you add on a day at the beginning or at the end, so that you have some time to do your own adventure. I STRONGLY SUGGEST that you consider this. A few people in our group arrived a day early and scheduled their own excursion in the Great Barrier Reef, knowing that they would want a little more "high octane" adventure than what our schedule would allow. Others stayed on at the end to travel to Brisbane, which was not in our itinerary at all.

This was a truly amazing (and magical!) experience, and a memory that we will treasure always. I would recommend this trip to anyone.

P.S. Pin Collectors get some great treats on ABD trips!!!!
