We wound up at Mama Melrose's on a whim and were quite happy with our lunch. Our waiter was personable, attentive and able to describe the menu well. I had the Chicken Campanelle, my husband the Charred Strip Steak. Both were very good. My campanelle had a creamy cheese sauce that was rich but not overwhelming, and the portion size was just right. My husband's steak was cooked to medium perfectly and the wine reduction was extremely flavorful. Our server brought us complementary glasses of champagne to celebrate our honeymoon - a lovely gesture and nice surprise.
The restaurant itself offers a fun atmosphere and good menu, but the waiting area is small and somewhat cramped. As we were leaving, we saw it was packed with people and non of them seemed especially happy. Although we had no problems being seated, it's easy to see that during peak times this could be a slightly unpleasant area to wait.

We had lunch reservations. I can't remember what I ordered, but it was delicious. My dad had the steak and he loved it! All of the adults had the spaghetti and meatballs cupcake... I think it was my favorite dessert of the trip. I will probably order some of these to go on our next trip.

Liked but didn't love it here. We had a sharing platter for two plus a mozzarella and tomato salad for the three 'adults' and a kids salad as appetizers. Entrees had the steak and macaroni which was very nice, a pizza and tuna which were ok and a kids buttered pasta - which was just as basic as you would expect. Pudding had the amaretto cheesecake which was nice. Nothing amazing just like a local italian restaurant but not awful either. Service was much swifter than we had read and the package tickets saved us the queue.

Had lunch reservations on Nov. 3rd for 2 adults. We checked in 20 min. early and got a booth immediately. Our waitress was great-very personable. The meal was one of the best we had at Disney, and we will be returning during next years visit. The interior of the restaurant makes you think you are in Italy, the only drawback would be the background music. I heard a little bit of everything while there- pop, country even rock. To keep the feeling going I would have liked to hear only Italian.

We had lunch reservation as part of the dining plan and Fantasmic! Package. We were seated withIn 10 minutes of arrival. Waiter Ronald was very helpful and explained everything to us with the Fantasmic voucher, and paying the bill/gratuities with the dining plan. (He wasn't looking for extra tip; I had asked him how it works.) Husband had steak and I had chicken Campanelle. We both had tomato and mozzarella salad for appetizer. We shared chocolate cheesecake and pound cake with berries for dessert. DS4 had pizza from kids menu. The food was good--similar to Olive Garden but better.
Overall, this seemed to be best place to go for Fantasmic! Package and I must say I'm glad we did.

HUGE Wait time and no seating in waiting area

Rating this restaurant was tough. The Food was excellent, but other than that... it was awful. On 8/23 we arrived 10 minutes prior to our ADR of 4:05pm for the fantasmic dinner package. It was pouring rain outside and the line to just get in to check in was outside the door. Seems the rain pushed everyone to the restaurants, and even though we had ADR, it didnt matter... if you came in for a table, you were given one. We were told by the hostess to come back in 45 minutes becuase the wait was going to be at LEAST that long. We went to other stores looked around and came back 5 minutes prior to the 45 minutes. We went back to the hostess to check in (again) and were told that it would be another 1/2 hour wait. UNBELIEVABLE!
So we decided to wait in the crowded waiting area and stood in the middle of a room with people all around because there were at least 50 people waiting and fuming just like we were. The wait staff would call out names, and unlike other posts were they say the hostesses were loud enough to be heard over the roar...not so much on this day. The hostess was so quiet that no one could hear her.
After another 35 minutes we were FINALLY seated. That is almost an HOUR AND A HALF WAIT. AWFUL! The only good thing that came out of it was that the food was excellent, but it still did not get the sour taste out of our mouths from the super long wait.
Mama Melrose needs to get the buzzers for the wait rather than the meak hostess trying to squeak out someones name for thier reservation. They also need to turn away walk ins if they feel that they will have a busy night. That is the main reason for ADR, right??
Would I go back... I dont know. The food was really good, but the wait was awful.

Went here after an All Ears Meet & Greet. The food was excellent and just enough with our feeling stuffed. We ate the Chicken Campanelle and it was just the right amount for us. Topped with the Superfuit Sangria and we were very well satisfied. My girls had the Grilled Chicken Flatbread and they loved this. They also had the Vegetarian Minestrone. While many soups are mostly broth (and messy) this one was full of veggies and pasta and oh so good.

We had a good meal here. Our server was a little slow to start off with but I think she was trying to play catch up. It was pouring out and a lot of parties were late for their reservations, as were we, but they did a great job getting people in and they were very friendly. The boats weren't running due to lightening so we had to wait for buses to start running from YC to get tho DHS. So we ended up being 10 minutes late and we got sat about 30 mins after our reservation time cause they were behind. We'd eat here again but we love the Sci-Fi for it's atmosphere better.

We are frequent WDW visitors, but had never eaten here before. We decided to take our party of seven for lunch in September 2011 and were immediately pleased with the wonderful aroma coming from the wood burning oven they cook their flatbreads in. Once seated, we were greeted by nice dim, old-style Italian decor as if we were eating at night under a pergola. The clam appetizer was fantastic, and they have very refreshing frozen cappuccinos for dessert on the dining plan. If there is anything negative to say about the place, it's only that the food is a little salty. Not a problem for me, but you might want to know before choosing your meal.

We had reservations for 6:20pm but arrived at 5pm to see if they could take us early- they did and we had a table by 5:20pm. The decor and atmosphere was perfect for the theme. We dined with 5 adults and 1 child (3) on the dining plan.
Although the menu was small, everyone truly enjoyed their choices. The Chicken Campanelle
Wood-grilled Chicken and Campanelle Pasta
tossed with Broccoflower, Sun-dried Tomatoes,
fresh Spinach, and Sweet Onions substituted with
Shrimp was excellent and portions were huge. The Penne alla Vodka was delicious and served in a giant bowl. The steak was also surprisingly good. My son got the pizza served with fruit and vegetables - he also enjoyed it. The cheesecake, cupcake and creme brulee was tasty as well.
Our service, on the other hand, was the worst in WDW. It took him 5 minutes to bring sugar substitute for ice tea, 10 minutes to bring a knife for the steak, and after asking for boxes on multiple occasions for the remaining of our food (more than half left over) he took it and threw it away.
Overall though, this restaurant was excellent, one of our favorites and highly recommended.

We ate lunch here in August on the deluxe dining plan. The restaurant was a little dark but cool after the baking heat outside. The service was fast and friendly. The food is traditional italian fare pastas, steaks, flatbreads and seafood. Not sure if I would go out of my way to eat here again, but having said that there is probably something to suit most people on the menu. You are also offered the priority access to fantasmic. The cost out of pocket would have been $124 for 3 adults for lunch. Expensive.

My husband, toddler and I ate here on September 16, 2011. Our reservation was for 5:05pm. We made our way up to the hostess, which wasn't a huge problem. Yes, they call your name over the crowd but the staff is so practiced in the art of yelling over the hoard that hearing our name was not an issue. We were seated within fifteen minutes of checking in. The dining room was packed. So, reservations are highly recommended.
I am a vegetarian and have a dairy allergy. So, I needed to speak with the chef. He came out right away and told me what was available. I ended up ordering the Campanelle, without the chicken and with a red sauce. It was really tasty. My toddler who has the same dietary restrictions also dug right in. My husband, a meat eater, ordered the charred strip steak and enjoyed it.
Dessert for a dairy free patron was a little disappointing. This was true of all of the restaurants on Disney property. I ended up eating a cup of fruit. Kind of boring. My husband ordered the chocolate cannoli cake and really liked it.
Overall, a great experience. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

My family ate here on September 21 for the Fantasmic dining package. We arrived on time for our reservation and were seated within 10 minutes. Our server was great. She explained the Fantasmic package and our options. When we expressed concern about our daughters food allergy she promptly spoke with the chef to get answers to our questions. The strip steaks and macaroni and cheese were to die for. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. My daughter ate chicken parm for the first time and loved it! The kids pizza was also good. My only problem with the meal was with the dessert. I asked for fruit salad to go since I was soooo stuffed. The waitress said that was not a problem. She brought out a paper cup with cantaloupe and a few grapes. Sort of a disappointment since my husband's dessert was sooo good. We will be dining here again on our next trip. Oh yeah, the Fantasmic seats were great too!!

Had lunch with Fantasmic package on Sept. 15th. Had ADR's 180 days out, show up for our reservation 20 minutes early to be told they are 20 minutes behind! Lobby to small and confusing for people that have reservations and people that are just trying to walk up and get a table. They should have a stand outside with a hostess or a sign that says they are no longer taking walk-ins. We were there for about 2 hours, that is cutting into precious park time! Oh and our waiter was horrible!

We had a great experience. WE were in Disney from Aug 30-Sept 7 and went on Sept 5 - Labor Day - for the Fantasmic package. We had a 3:30 reservation so it was an early dinner and despite the time, there was a wait for our table but the place was full. Walk ins came in and were sent away because they were booked for the day.
We were seated. There were 4 adults and 1 child so we were snug in the big booth but fine. My son had a medical stroller so we wheeled him in and he sat in the booth and instead of leaving the stroller outside. They had us leave it by the bathroom so it wouldn't get rained on for him. The woman explained the Fantasmic package and left our slip. We've done it before but she was thorough.
She got us drinks while we decided on appetizers. 3 real ice teas, 1 diet and 1 root beer. She brought drinks and hot- I mean hot bread back to the table. My husband and I shared the calamari. Our son ate it too. My mom had the clams as her app and my dad had a salad with walnuts, blue cheese, etc. Our DS7 got the fruit -grapes and melon as his app. Everyone enjoyed their apps. The broth to the clams I tasted of my moms was tasty.
Once the apps were finished, our entrees were brought out. We got 3 steaks and 1 Tuna. My son got the penne with "cheese sauce" It was more alfredo but he enjoyed it. The steaks were great. The oven roasted potatoes were crisp on the outside with the centers well cooked and the onion was just cooked. The tuna was cooked medium rare and not over cooked.
For dessert, I had the panna cotta that tasted like a mock tiramisu. It was small and ok. My husband got the sorbet which was quite large and sugar free. My parents got the cheese cake...again small and ok.
We didn't get out of there until after 5 so it was a very relaxed away from the hurry of the park meal. If you are ok with the break, do it. If you are in a rush, you can't do this here. The Fantasmic package is the reason we go and the restaurant was the bonus. This time was better than last and we'll definitely go back again. I think it's made the rotation when planning restaurants on future trips.
