I had the privilege of meeting up with Lou Mongello one recent weekend. As you know, Lou is the favorite Disney trivia guy for many Disney fans, including me!
Late one morning, we had coffee (I had cappuccino) at the Kona Island Coffee Bar in the Polynesian Resort. Lou recently redesigned his website and is working hard on his Audio Guides and his many other projects. (I know he doesn't sleep much!) As per the last two years, I'm auctioning myself (a Hidden Mickeys tour with me at WDW, that is) at Fred Block's 2009 MagicMeets for Lou's Dream Team Project, which supports the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
We rode the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. In Town Square, I took a pic of Lou and Goofy:
I checked out a few Hidden Mickeys, although I don't think these images will be going anywhere soon. At least, the great classic Mickey in the Aladdin window display outside the Emporium Store is still there!
I spotted the horseshoe Hidden Mickey in Liberty Square, near the Yankee Trader Shop. I like to stand there a while and watch as most folks just walk right by it or over it, not appreciating this unique image.
I stopped to admire the chimney stone Mickey in the mural along the queue for Snow White's Scary Adventures. It's the image on the lower chimney, under the flowers and near Snow White's head. This was one of the first Hidden Mickeys that I ever spotted. I wrote about it "long ago" in 2002, in the first edition (2003) of the WDW Hidden Mickeys book. As you can understand, it's a sentimental favorite of mine!
Lou and I said our goodbyes, but rest assured that we'll meet up again soon at our favorite place on earth!

I have walked past that hidden Mickey in Liberty Square more times than I care to count!! Never once noticed it until it was pointed out to me. On our trip back to the World in Sept., will have to slow down some and see if I can locate more of these hidden Mickey's. Thanks for sharing.

Nice Steve! I never saw the Snow White HM.
My kids LOVE the HMs. Even when we're home, they find them in the strangest places and point them out to me. It helps time pass a little more quickly when in queue for an attraction when at WDW as well. The first section they turn to of our Celebrations Magazine is your article with pics of the HMs. Your work is appreciated!

I'm returning to Disney at the end of October with my two daughters ages 11 and 2. Since there are a number of things that the 2 year old still isn't old enough to do, my older daughter and I have decided that this is the trip to slow down and notice the little things such as the Hidden Mickeys we usually pass by unnoticed.

My husband and I visit Disney from Ohio -usually twice a year - January and then for the Food and Wine Festival. This year he will be making three trips (he took his 78 year young mom for her birthday in May) He is always finding hidden Mickeys - and loves looking for them. It's the kid in him (that I pray never goes away) He just can't help himself. We make it a habit to not exchange birthday or anniversary gifts, instead putting those funds toward our Disney adventures. This year I broke the rules a little in purchasing him the hidden Mickey book. Our anniversary is this Thursday and we are looking forward to our up coming Disney vacation. It's a little something that I know will mean alot. I can see it now, he will be running through Disney with me in tow - finding each hidden Mickey and checking them off as he goes. Thanks for the up dated info.
