I attended the 5 PM Candlelight Processional this Thursday (December 16th). The guest narrator that night was Thomas Gibson who is presently starring in the hit TV show Criminal Minds.
For those of you who have never been to the Candlelight Processional here’s some details:

The guest choirs are most high school choirs from Florida, however some come from Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio, Illinois, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virgina, New York, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and even one from the United Kingdom.
In the following videos you’ll see most, but not all, of the Candlelight Processional. Enjoy!
In this first video you’ll see the guest choirs as the enter the American Garden Theater and fill the stage. It’s very moving to see all the wonderful young men and women come in in their gold robes, holding their candles and singing; just beautiful!

hey, just wanted to let you know, i was part of this mass choir on the left for this show, it was a marvelous show. i have been a part of it for a few years now in my high school not far at all from the parks, the most amazing show included Marlee matlin, i wanna spell it? that show really brought tears to my eyes, on stage. haha i encourage everyone to see her show at candlelight. it is deffinatley the most memorable.
Mike–back in November you asked people to write in about their favorite role. I’m not sure what I would want to play in the parks, however, if I were a cast member, I would definitely audition for this show! I’ve now seen it 3 times over the years, and I continue to love it every year. My church no longer performs large choral concerts, so I miss getting to sing really awesome songs like these. I hope Disney continues this wonderful tradition which helps us celebrate the birth of Christ.
Be aware that the Disney cast choir is not made up of the professional Disney singers. The choir is made up of cast members from all of the parks: people who do everything from scoop your ice cream to handle the technical aspects of the parks. They try out and volunteer for rehearsals and performances – all on their own time…and the LOVE doing it !
And they do a wonderful job !!!

DizneyMike replies: Kristin, I know that Disney sells a CD (not a DVD) of the CP. Also, you more than likely will find full versions of it on YouTube; but that’s about the only things I can think of. Maybe other readers will have other ideas…Mike

Great job on the videos of the candelight processional. I have never seen this as I have been to the World so many times, but never at Christmas. I truly enjoyed watching this and it definitely brings a tear to your eye..If watching this doesn’t get you in the spirit of Christmas, I don’t know what will!!! Disney knocked it out of the park with this, it is a wonderful show!
Thanks for posting this. We saw the Candlelight Processional on our visit to Epcot last Christmas Day & brought tears to my eyes listening & reliving the memories. To all who are making a visit to Disney World this Christmas, this is a MUST see! Thanks to Disney for keeping Christ in Christmas!
Thank you for this video. I am a big fan of Criminal Minds and Thomas Gibson. To have him read the scriptural account of Jesus’ birth was a treat.

Mike, Thank you so much for posting the video of the Candlelight Processional. My one regret from my visit in December 2008 was that I didn’t take the time to see it. Now that I’ve seen your video I feel I’ve had the best seat in the house. Keep up the wonderful blogs – I look forward to them.
My mom was sad because she can’t visit Disney every year in Christmas, missing all the decorations and celebrations. But when I told her that Thomas Gibson was a narrator in CP she was the saddest person in the world!…she loves Criminal Minds!!
Now I can make her day brighter!!! (more brighter is about 30°C here in Chile)
