The new Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun parade, the successor to Block Party Bash, debuted today at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It follows the same parade route as Block Party Bash did.
The Cast Members seemed excited that this parade was starting. I had several tell me to be sure to check it out this afternoon.
Prior to the parade, they were asking about celebrations and reminding everyone that the parade was going to be coming. We decided to catch it at the very beginning of the parade route. It began promptly at 3 PM.
The parade starts off with several characters from “The Incredibles” on scooters. If you’re at the beginning of the parade route, they zip by very fast so have your camera(s) ready.
They were followed by Mr. Incredible on a float with a countdown to fun on the side.
After that, characters from “A Bug’s Life” danced their way (or rolled their way on a float) by.
Remy from “Ratatouille” was on hand to help celebrate as well.
My personal favorite part of the parade as the “Monsters, Inc.” portion. I love that movie and the float was a work of art!
Characters from “Up!” followed the “Monster’s, Inc.” float.
The “Toy Story” segment was very cool. Jessie and Bullseye were adorable dancing. The float that Woody, Buzz and Lotso were on was absolutely incredible. There were toys and such all over it. It was a visual treat.
The cones brought up the rear of the parade, followed by two Cast Members holding a jump rope.
The parade is very high energy. However, it is short! My mom was with me today and she timed it at 6 minutes from start to finish. It did look like the parade made a show stop on Hollywood Boulevard. It wasn’t my favorite thing I’ve ever seen at Disney World but it wasn’t my least favorite, either. In all honesty, it felt sort of like the “Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Street Party” at Magic Kingdom only with Pixar characters. For what it was, it was cute. I wouldn't make a special trip back to Disney's Hollywood Studios just to see it, though.
Have a MAGICAL day! TTFN, ta ta for now!

And this parade is different HOW???? Is Disney putting it all in a blender and dishing it out as new? I don't think so! As Candace (Phineas and Ferb) would say, "Mom, Disney thinks it is putting out a brand new show but it's same old same old!!!!!"

Were they doing test-runs of this parade in Oct. of last year? Looking at the floats & performers, I swear I saw this parade when I was there on Columbus Day.

I hope it's still around when we bring the kids in November. I actually don't think the short length is a bad thing with kids! Adults-only, yes, I can see the letdown...

This new parade looks colourful and fun.... SIX minutes for a parade is rather short. My family really miss the Stars and Motor Cars Parade. Although we love Pixar characters, they've taken over the whole of the Studios and that saddens us.
Only once did we see the Block Party Bash and was sorely disappointed in it. Parades should be fun but not so high energy. I admire the cast members who are super fit, but do we really need that?
I know things have to change and move on, but so drastic?

We were excited when we saw a new parade with the Pixar characters was going to debut at the Hollywood Studios, during our visit last weekend. I was traveling with a 10 & 13 year boy who love all the Pixar charcters. We made a special effort to be there for the new parade. What a disappointment. The parade was extremely short, just over 5 minutes and only 6 floats. What there was of it, was lovely, but it didn't warrent taking time away from other things. We waited for about 40 minutes for it to start and it was over, way too soon. And maybe I am wrong, but I think every Disney Parade should include Mickey Mouse.

It's very obvious that Disney is "recycling" their floats for these parades, as well as the costumes. I will have to see the entire parade to really understand what the difference is between this parade and the Block Party Bash. I love Pixar so hopefully they expand this parade to include some additional characters. Since this is day one, we can only hope that they are just testing the waters with this new parade.

Why didn't they use all of the Pixar characters? There are whole films left out...

Basically....Block Party Bash....renamed with the addition of a few characters. Even the costumes are the same.
If this is considered a parade...they probably removed the stops with all of the dancing and acrobatics. I heard it was a very difficult on the performers and there were a lot of injuries.
If they were going to have a new parade...I wish they would have put some money into new floats and new costumes.

We too loved the Stars and Motor Cars parade! It was by far the best daytime parade and 1 reason we had to run over to the Studios. This new parade looks like it might be an improvement over Block Party Bash. Hopefully they will add more to it.

We watched the parade on 01-18-11. I agree the parade is very short. We sat closer to the end of the parade, you can hear it coming from quite a distance, but moved pretty slow. It definitely is not one of Disney's better parades. I wouldn't make my plans around seeing this parade.

Where is Wall-E? I understand that Cars have some mentioning elsewhere in the parks but this parade seemed to capture those characters who went "under-represented" elsewhere...where is our favorite Wall-E?!?!?!

I agree, our favorite Disney movies are Wall-E and Eva and Nightmare before Christmas. I feel like these Characters are never represented. They could do Nightmare before Christmas around Halloween, and that would be very cool. BUT Wall-e was a hit with our family. I don't know a single person that has watched the movie that didn't fall in love with it. It also has one of the best messages delivered throughout the movie about keeping our planet clean. I really thought they would have more Wall-E stuff.
