Epcot Flower and Garden Festival

DizneyMike’s World

blueline.gif

As I traveled through Epcot today I noticed that there is quite a bit of activity in preparation for the upcoming Flower and Garden Festival. The Flower and Garden Festival runs March 18th through May 31st and is not to be missed. Disney does such a wonderful job putting in thousands of beautiful flower and plants. Anyway, here’s some pictures of what I saw:

The following pictures are of topiaries that are located in back of Spaceship Earth.

Most of the flowerbeds surrounding the small ponds at International Gateway have been planted with bright, beautiful flowers.

A lot of activity is happening near where the rose garden and Tink’s play area was located last year.

As you leave the International Gateway and approach Canada you can see more work being done.

The area between France and Morocco has a large wall hiding what they are doing there.

The area between Germany and heading towards China also has a large wall with work going on behind it.

Finally, the Flower Power Concert Series line-up in posted in front of the American Gardens Theatre. This year the concerts are only going to be performed on weekend nights. Attending these concerts is always a highlight for me. I really enjoy them!

I bet these flowers and gardens are absolutely wonderful!

Especially this time of year.

Joanne:

We're heading to WDW in April and it's the first time we're seeing the Flower and Garden Festival (I am very excited!). Thank you for the sneak peek!

Amy Groelly:

My daughter and I will be stopping to smell all the roses for a week around Mother's Day. We are so excited! I remember in the late 90's when they had a topiary of Mary Poppins, the penguins and bert near England next to the telephone. What fun!

Kathy:

Do you know who the speakers are going to Disney always has a list of the entertainment, but not the speakers.

Thanks!

EDITOR'S NOTE: Yes, we just put the press release with the speakers' names online here:

my family and i have been to the flower and garden festival 2 times and it is are fav time to go to disney we will be there agian in may for all three of my kids birthdays.

Rick:

Our family was at EPCOT on Thursday in PERFECT 76 degree, mild breeze, glorious weather (I digress), and we also saw the first signs of the flower festival. It should be incredible. Lots of prep underway, and we're trying to get down to see our daughter again. She's in the college program. Topiaries and the colored banks were beautiful, and I can't imagine them with another couple of weeks of growth.

Andrea:

Does anyone have any suggestions for seating times for the concert series, especially since my group will be there only the opening Friday night, with Davy Jones?

Is the crowd similar to the Candelight Processional / Concert when a popular star is the narrator?

Any info. you can offer would be especially helpful!

MELISSA OCONNELL:

My family will be in Disney for our 1st Disney vacation in May & would love to see it. Just wondering where is this, in Epcot? Do you need any special tickets?

Editor's Note: The Flower and Garden festival topiaries and exhibits are located throughout Epcot, especially in World Showcase. The event is included in your admission ticket to Epcot.

Sheri:

Hello All--

We were there last year for the flower and garden festival. It was so beautiful and amazing. We will be there this year for it too. Makes great backdrops with pictures of the kids. Always a great time!!

David J Clendenin:

My wife and I have been going to the Flower and Garden Festival for the past 8 years. We can not say enough about it. When we go we ride nothing, just walk around taking pictures and enjoying the smells and sites of spring. We live in Florida so we try to go at least 3 times before it is over. Looking forward to Herman Hermits this year! Hope everyone that goes really enjoys.

Colleen Ward:

We have been going to the flower show for several years now. I always tell people not to miss it if possible. One year I took the back stage garden tour and that was very informative and amazing to see how some of the exhibts were put together. We will be there again in May and are looking forward to a magical time. Hope to see ya there!
