Yes, a Gravy-Themed Roller Coaster Exists and We Have a MAJOR Update!

Who is ready to save Thanksgiving?

Tom Turkey!

We know it’s a smidge too early to be talking about Thanksgiving, but when it comes to Holiday World’s NEWEST roller coaster, Good Gravy!, it is worth talking about year-round. This roller coaster looks deliciously exciting, and we just got a NEW update. Let’s get into the meat and potatoes of what happened!

In case you didn’t know, a theme park in Santa Claus, Indiana named Holiday World announced a gravy-themed roller coaster in 2023 called ‘Good Gravy!”. Since then, we have been obsessed with this ride, and can not get enough of it.

Holiday World is a theme park that celebrates a ton of different holidays year-round. It has entire lands themed to different holidays, like Halloween, Christmas, The 4th of July, and of course, Thanksgiving! It’s basically a speed run of a ton of the most festive and fun holidays — and it sounds like a blast!

Now that we’ve set the scene, we’re hoping the context of a gravy-themed roller coaster makes more sense. Not that we needed to make sense of it, it’s a phenomenal idea.

The goal of this roller coaster is to save Thanksgiving. How do you do that? Well, isn’t it obvious? You need to make some gravy — because the first batch was SO GOOD that they ran out. It’s officially time for us to put on our aprons, jump into the kitchen with Grandma Gracy, and start whisking away to make the PERFECT gravy.

Honestly, we love being able to save Thanksgiving — it truly is all in a day’s work. Up until now, we haven’t gotten too many updates about this roller coaster, but we recently heard that they have officially begun testing it — and they shared the ride’s first ever run on the track on X (formerly Twitter).

This means that we are one step closer to being able to experience the delicious adventure that is helping Grandma Gracy make some more gravy — and hopefully, she decides to make a triple batch this time.

We’re so glad to see this ride in the testing phase. It is slated to open in May 2023, and we’ll be keeping an eye on its progress. Keep checking back in with us at AllEars for all of the updates!

  1. I love that you’re covering Holiday World! It’s truly an excellent place. Before we moved to Florida (from southern Indiana), my husband and I more often than not had annual passes. Free soft drinks and sunscreen? Amazing! Always clean, super friendly staff, talented college students in their stage shows—well worth the trip every time.
