What’s in the Water at Frozen Ever After in Disney World?

Frozen Ever After is one of EPCOT‘s most popular rides, as well as one of the most beloved rides in all of Disney World.

Frozen Ever After

This is especially true for those of us who adore Frozen the movie (present and accounted for 🙋‍♀️), but one question has haunted us about this ride since it opened, and we need to know — what’s really in the water at Frozen Ever After?

Now, we’d like to clarify that this is all our speculation (and some harmless fun), but the following is what we really think may be inside the water at Frozen Ever After.

Maelstrom Memories (And The Tears of Those Who Miss It)

Before Frozen Ever After came to be, this ride was originally Maelstrom, a dark ride with a very similar ride system that told the story of Norwegian history. You’d see a massive visage of Odin, a Norwegian God, as well as pass through many scenes of Norwegian maritime fishing villages.

When it was announced in 2014 that Maelstrom would be replaced by Frozen Ever After, many fans of the ride were upset, and are still sad the ride is gone to this day. We totally get it, and some members of our team have shed a tear missing the ride, so we assume some of those have made it into the water.

Learn all about Maelstrom here!

The (Happy) Tears of Frozen Fans

On the subject of tears, we also have some team members who adore Frozen, and have shed some happy tears riding the attraction over the years it’s been open.

So yes, we’ve apparently got lots of tears in the water — some happy, some sad, so we say they even each other out!

The Nokk

Remember that amazing (yet terrifying) water spirit in Frozen 2? Well, we assume they’re in their natural habitat in the water as well!

The official name of the water spirit is The Nokk, and if you remember from the film, they were a little wild. So if you ever have a rough ride on Frozen Ever After, or it breaks down, it very well may be The Nokk.

All The Olafs

DON’T GET MAD AT US, IT’S JUST SCIENCE! Before Elsa uses her magic to ensure Olaf can stay frozen year round with his own snowstorm above his head, we can only imagine he melted…a few times.

We love Olaf!

And where would all that melted snow go? In the water, of course! Now, don’t worry — he’s still the same Olaf we know and love because his magic (and therefore personality) doesn’t change, but that snow is definitely not the same snow it was at the beginning.

All of Olaf’s Costumes

Speaking of Olaf melting, if you’ve seen his Olaf Presents series on Disney+ where he reenacts other popular Disney stories, we can’t be the only one wondering WHERE those costumes went.

What if he didn’t have time to take them off before it got too warm? If that’s the case, we wouldn’t be shocked if some of his Olaf Presents costumes were at the bottom of the Frozen Ever After water too.

Elsa’s Gloves

Remember Elsa’s gloves that she wore in the first film to avoid freezing things on accident (and taking them off is how the whole story got started)? Well, now that she’s embraced her powers and who she is, we HOPE she threw those things far away!

And no matter where they landed, if it was in all that snow before it was melted, it probably ended up here too.

Lots of Film Franchise Memorabilia

When Frozen was released in 2013, it was a massive hit. At first, adults and kids were enthralled…and then as “Let It Go” continued to play for the 14 millionth time in many households, it was often just the kids who continued to be obsessed.

With that being said, we wouldn’t be *totally* surprised if there was some Frozen memorabilia in the Frozen Ever After water from parents who just couldn’t take it anymore OR didn’t want the obsession coming back after the visit to the parks. (This is a complete joke, by the way. Please don’t throw away things your children love!)

Some Minnie Ears and Hats

If you’ve ridden Frozen Ever After, you know there are two (small) drops during the ride, and if you’ve got something on your head and it’s not secure, it’s gone.

Prepare for the drop!

This is the case for many Disney rides, but for this one, it’s most common if you’re on the sides of the boat, in the front row, or the back row, AND only if the item is really loose on your head, since the drops aren’t very steep!

Prince Hans of the Southern Isles If Elsa Or Kristoff Ever Get Their Hands on Him

MAJOR spoiler alert for the first Frozen film, but Prince Hans of the Southern Isles is NOT the man you think he is. He’s not in love with Anna, and he, quite literally, LEAVES HER FOR DEAD in attempt to recapture Elsa.

Hans better HOPE Elsa or Kristoff never cross paths with him, because if they do…we have a feeling he’ll end up in the water one way or another.

Frozen Ever After line

In case we need to clarify, this whole post is a total joke just to have some fun — we have NO idea what’s in the water at Frozen Ever After! We did try to ask some Cast Members though, who really weren’t able to give us too much of an answer, so we decided to come up with our own for fun.
