Your 2024 Disney World trip is right around the corner, right?

EPCOT

Since you’re still planning everything out and getting ready for all of those new experiences around Disney World, we thought we’d remind you to get ready for all the FOOD!! To that point, let’s talk about some of the ways eating is changing at Disney World in 2024!

What are those changes to eating at Disney World in 2024 that we were mentioning? Let’s go over them right now!

The Disney Dining Plan is back!

Now this one officially came back on January 9th. If you are unfamiliar with this offering, the Disney Dining Plan is available for an additional cost on your Disney World vacation. You pay a certain amount per night to get credits that you can use at most Disney World restaurants throughout your vacation.

Full Spread

Depending on the plan you choose, these credits can be redeemed at table service restaurants, quick service restaurants, or snacks. Essentially, this is a way to pre-pay for your food at Disney World, and the credits are used to “pay” for your meals. Many find the Disney Dining Plan helpful with budgeting and consider it a convenient option in the parks.

There used to be more Dining Plan options before it went away in 2020, but it’s returning with only two options: the Quick-Service Dining Plan and the Basic Disney Dining Plan.

The Quick Service Disney Dining Plan includes two quick-service meals and one snack per person per night. The pricing is as follows:

  • $57.01 per night per adult (ages 10 and up)
  • $23.83 per night per child (age 3-9)

The Basic Disney Dining Plan includes one table service meal, one quick service meal, and one snack per person per night. This is the pricier option at:

  • $94.28 per night per adult (ages 10 and up)
  • $26.69 per night per child (age 3-9)

You’ll have to do your research and see if it will work for you during your next trip, but if you’re getting stressed about that, don’t worry! That’s what we’re here for!

5 People Who Shouldn’t Buy the Disney World Dining Plan

The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers

On Disney’s BoardWalk, a new restaurant is on its way! The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers was originally scheduled to debut in 2023, but the opening has been delayed to early 2024.

At the Cake Bake Shop, guests will be able to enjoy both savory items and delicious desserts, as well as an afternoon tea service in “a whimsical atmosphere that complements the magic of the idyllic charm of Disney’s BoardWalk.”

Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs

Next up for you corn dog lovers, the Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs stand is coming to Disney’s BoardWalk. They already run a stand at Downtown Disney in Disneyland Resort, but now they’ll be making their way to the East Coast.

While you will generally find a “regular” corn dog on the menu, the really exciting thing here is Blue Ribbon’s constantly rotating menu of unique corn dog creations. The Disney World menu hasn’t been released yet, but in Disneyland, we’ve seen things like the Mexican Street Corn Dog, a Christmas Corn Dog, and even a Golden Dragon Corn Dog!

An official opening date hasn’t been released yet, but it is set to open in 2024.

1900 Park Fare

1900 Park Fare, which hosts a character dining experience, at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, has been closed since 2020. Well, the restaurant is finally reopening on April 10th for breakfast and dinner. But more importantly, reservations open for the restaurant on March 5th.

There will be NEW characters to see during the dining experience, too, like Prince Ali, Mirabel, Cinderella, and Tiana in her new outfit from Tiana’s Bayou Experience. The theme will be “Wish Upon A Star.”

Both the breakfast and dinner buffet are returning and will include some old favorites, including the famous strawberry soup. But there will be some new foods to sample, too, “dreamed up by our talented chefs to pay tribute to some of the characters and stories you’ll encounter throughout the restaurant.”

So if you’re looking to dine there, be sure to mark March 5th in your calendar.

Ice Cold Hydraulics

Disney has just announced that Ice Cold Hydraulics is a new snack kiosk coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios! According to an Instagram post made by Disney Eats, it’s a new “chillingly delicious spot” in Muppet Courtyard!

Hydraulics

Disney also shared three new tasty treats that we’ll be able to try at Hydraulics, and they sound and look amazing!

First up, we’ll be able to try the Candy Painted Cinnamon Rolls! These are mini cinnamon rolls topped with Coca-Cola-infused glaze and toasted nuts.

Then, get your churro fix with the Bouncin’ Mini Churros — savory churros topped with Coca-Cola and bourbon candied bacon, sriracha aïoli, and scallions.

Finally, wash it all down with Frozen Slushies which will come in a variety of flavors — Fanta Blue Raspberry, Minute Maid Lemonade, or Coca Cola. The slushies can also come with Jack Daniel’s Whiskey, Bacardi Superior Rum, or Stoli Vanil Vodka, for an adult-ified version!

By the sounds of it, Coca-Cola is going to be a big part of this new snack stand. While we’re super excited to get this sneak peek at the treats coming, we can’t wait to see what else we’ll be able to try when Hydraulics opens!

Possible Tiana-themed restaurant?

You see, some people have been under the impression that a Tiana-themed restaurant (a la Tiana’s Palace in Disneyland) was going to be added as part of the new attraction. Understandably, this wasn’t helped by the fact that there were “Tiana’s Foods” signs plastered on the construction walls.

But, now they have an updated sign that just says “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure”.

Summer 2024

The problem still is that Disney hasn’t made any announcements about a potential Tiana restaurant in Disney World, so we’re still left speculating.
