NEWS: Elon Musk Says Disney Inclusion Standards Are Racist and Sexist

The internet is invested in the lawsuit between fired actress Gina Carano and Disney and Lucas Film.

Cara Dune (Gina Carano) in Lucasfilm’s THE MANDALORIAN.

In 2021, Carano was fired from her role as Cara Dune on The Mandalorian. The actress is publicly conservative in her political beliefs, and gathered the attention of many when she spoke out against mask mandates during the COVID-19 pandemic. Further, Carano participated in the spreading of false information pertaining to voter fraud during the 2020 Presidential election. Before she was fired, Carano shared on social media that “being a Republican is like being a Jew during the Holocaust.” After her termination, Carano claimed that Disney was being discriminative against her beliefs and that male actors who voiced similar beliefs weren’t reprimanded. Now, X (formerly Twitter) CEO Elon Musk is funding legal support of the lawsuit.

The situation has heated up a notch as Elon Musk shared on X a chart from Disney’s website that features the Company’s diversity and inclusion standards. Musk said, “An anonymous source just sent me this from Disney. It is mandatory, institutionalized racism and sexism!

The chart shows the required diversity and inclusion standards within each sector of The Walt Disney Company. Musk is implying that by having such specific standards, Disney is actively participating in racist and sexist business practices.

These standards have been available on Disney’s website since 2020. Further, the Company Content Representation statistics are also available. The charts show how many employees of each gender and race (either White or Person of Color) work in each sector of scripted and film and news and sports.

Musk also shared on Twitter that if anyone else has experienced discrimination from The Walt Disney Company, they could respond to the thread to receive legal support.

The legal funding and discrimination claims from Musk come after Disney CEO Bob Iger removed Disney advertisements from X after Musk reportedly left antisemitic comments on the platform.
