Don’t Forget! Genie+ Has CHANGED in Disneyland

Love it or hate it, Genie+ seems like it’s here to stay in Disney World and Disneyland.

Disney Genie+

The paid, skip-the-line service has seen its fair share of changes since it first rolled out and has proven to be rather controversial. No matter how you feel about the service, it can be a great way to save time in the parks. And, if you’re heading to Disneyland soon we’ve got an important update you need to know about.

Not all of Disneyland’s rides are included with Genie+ — instead, some are only available as Individual Lightning Lanes for an additional fee separate from Genie+. Pirates of the Caribbean is usually one of those rides.

But, as of January 22nd, 2024, Pirates of the Caribbean has temporarily been added to Genie+!

Disneyland is closing a handful of rides for refurbishment, so adding Pirates to the regular Genie+ lineup will help spread out some of those guests. On the 22nd, the Mark Twain Riverboat, Haunted Mansion, and Astro Orbiter will all be closed for refurbishment.

As of now, we’re not sure how long Pirates of the Caribbean will be available with Genie+, but we’ll let you know when we hear of any changes!

  1. I can’t believe Disney is giving up all of the money they make from no longer selling Individual Lightning Lanes for Pirates. What will they do next, stop selling Individual Lightning Lanes for the Main Street vehicles, parking tram, and monorail? Keep up the great reporting.
