I Travel to Disney World 12 Times a Year. These Are the Packing Tips I SWEAR By.

I’ve never been one to enjoy packing, but I’m about to give you a few tips that will help make packing a breeze!

Fry Bucket on the Carrousel

I travel A LOT for work (and to have some fun with my AE peeps) and if I didn’t have these travel tips to help me out, I’d be lost. I’m constantly getting asked about my best packing tips for traveling and now I’m ready to spill my secrets.

Ok, first things first, most if not all of the things I’m going to be telling you that I use when I pack can be ordered directly from Amazon! Alright, the # 1 on my list right now that has been a game-changer for me is my carry-on duffle backpack.

Carry On Duffle Backpack

My carry-on backpack is amazing!! I love it for travel and it’s been so useful in the parks! There are so many compartments and zippers, plus I used packing cubes with it (we’ll get to that in a second).

See that back pocket!

It’s got room for everything you need in the parks, a nice water bottle pocket for water bottles bigger than the small Corkcicles, and there’s even a pocket in the back that fits my iPad and computer so I can bring stuff into the parks for work.

Here’s what it looks like on the inside

The best use we’ve gotten out of this one though has to be that we’ve affectionately called it a Snackpack. I recently filmed a snack video with it and was able to throw all the extras in there — zebra domes, rice krispie treats, peanut butter cookie pies, a salted caramel gingerbread sandwich PLUS all the stuff I already brought to the park!style=”text-align: center;”>

I told you we’d be coming back around to the packing cubes so now we need to talk about my secret weapon that goes hand in hand with my carry-on duffle backpack.

These packing cubes have made packing so much less of a chore for me, honestly! I don’t remember packing before them and I’m so glad I have them because now I can just toss everything I need in them and it keeps it all clean, neat, and organized and I don’t even have to put too much thought (or effort) into it.

Next up, we need to talk about how your whole travel experience will literally change with an over-the-door hanging organizer.

I’ve used this in so many different types of travels from Disney World and Disneyland hotel stays to even taking them with me on Disney Cruise Lines. Once you’ve mastered how to organize TONS of things from shoes to getting ready essentials, to snacks (yeah, we found a way to get back to snacks), it’s totally going to blow your mind.

While I don’t have a “something” to offer you for this travel tip, it’s probably one of THE most important for sure — leave room for souvenirs

Nothing’s worse than spending your hard-earned money on things to cherish your trip by and bring back as souvenirs for family and friends only to find you’ve run out of room to fit everything into the bags you originally packed with you. Trust me, rather than paying to ship them out and let them out of your sight, just be sure that you’ve left enough room (ok, maybe a little more than you originally thought) for things you’ll buy once you’re in the parks.Raise your hand if you’ve ever left a vacation with dirty clothes — guilty! But I’ve got a secret hack for that.

Make sure you’ve packed a bag with you for dirty clothes. Most of the time when I’m on vacation I spend very little (read that as minimal) time in the hotel room because I’m so busy out in the parks. If I’m not in the room, I certainly don’t have time to do laundry (unless it’s already built into the room and let’s face it, that’s not many rooms at Disney). Rather than taking precious time out of the parks, I just pack a spare bag that I can toss my dirty clothes into, and I’m ready to throw them into the wash as soon as I’m home (and it keeps my luggage from smelling like a sweaty mess).

The next thing we’re going to talk about is first aid essentials.

Yeah, we’re talking about travel-size essentials that you don’t know you’re going to need until they’re scarce to find. We’re talking about things like Band-Aids, Tylenol, Tums, and Liquid IV. While they’re sold in Disney Parks, they’re usually expensive and single-use packages. By equipping yourself with your own, you’re already one step ahead of the game!

Another important thing to really stick to is to try not to overpack.

Relavel Travel Makeup Case

It’s way too easy to do, but if you’re anything like me then you’re probably trying to be as prepared as possible and sometimes we can get a bit overzealous with our packing. While everything may feel essential at the time, chances are you probably won’t need more than 1 outfit per day unless you’ve got a dining reservation that requires a separate dress code. Here’s another plus side, the more room you have when you arrive, the more there is to fill with souvenirs later!

This next tip could make or break your traveling! Leave essentials in your carry-on and NOT your checked bag.

Travel Makeup Bag

What do I classify as essentials, well, here’s the shortlist: passports/IDs, medications, important documents, charging cords and blocks, a swimsuit, and an emergency change of clothes. There’s no telling when your luggage could be delayed or even lost and if these are the most important things to have with you at all times, I’d rather not leave them to chance!

This is a life hack that you’ll be raving about for Disney trips to come! There are bags for ear packing now!

While Emma talks about several options in the video, any of them are ideal for making sure you’re getting the best and longest use out of your ears.

This ear case is ESSENTIAL!

And she’s right, Disney’s selling ear headbandsfor much higher prices than they used to, and we’re not above protecting our investments at all cost.

If you’ve not listened to anything I’ve said before, I’m begging you — pack your rain gear.

Clear Rain Poncho

This is the one thing we see people in the parks most unprepared for when they travel, and it’s one of those things you’ll just have to have at a moment’s notice when the time comes. Rather than spend a fortune on rain gear during your vacation, pack a poncho or an umbrella and save your money for the more important things!

I would legitimately be lost without my favorite water bottle!

Finding the right size, shape, and material for you and your lifestyle is key here. But take it from me, when you find that perfect fit you’ll not feel whole unless it’s with you all the time. If you haven’t already found one you love, I’ve got a great suggestion!

Packing the right kind of footwear can keep you from ruining your vacation!

I get it, some of you like to wear sandals in the parks (I like to too), but just keep in mind that you’ll be doing A TON of walking around the parks. If you’re really sold on bringing sandals, it might be wise to have a backup pair (that’s already broken in) at the ready in case your feet start to ache.

However, if you’re not willing to chance it, or are just more of a tennis shoe kind of person, I’ve really enjoyed my pair of shoes.

They’re lightweight, comfortable, and able to keep up with my demanding schedule while at Disney. I’ve tried out several pairs and none have been as good as the ones I’m currently rocking.
