Disney World is about to look WAY different soon. You’ll see people park hopping any time they want, riding a new attraction in Frontierland, and enjoying a NEW nighttime show in EPCOT.
Plus, a long-awaited dining promotion is FINALLY returning in 2024; the Disney Dining Plan will be available starting January 9th! Ahead of the Dining Plan’s big return, you might want to brush up on your knowledge of how the plan works. For instance, Disney just confirmed an important rule will be enforced when the Dining Plan returns, so let’s talk about what it means.
The Disney Dining Plan essentially allows guests to pre-pay for all their meals in Disney World in exchange for dining “credits,” which can be used in a variety of ways at restaurants across Walt Disney World. The Quick Service Dining Plan and the Basic Disney Dining Plan will return on January 9th, 2024.
For example, the Quick Service Disney Dining Plan gets each person two quick service meals and one snack per day, while the Basic Disney Dining Plan gets each person one table service meal, one quick service meal, and one snack per day.
Now, in the past, guests could make a few alterations to the credit system. Say a guest wanted to snack around the park instead of sitting down for a quick service meal. Well, under the old system, guests could convert a quick service meal credit for three snack credits. In 2024, this will no longer be allowed.
Disney confirmed that guests will be required to use their snack credits and meal credits exclusively on those types of meals. This means your meals can’t be swapped for multiple snacks, and on the other hand, multiple snacks can’t be merged into one meal.
The Disney Dining Plan will return with a price increase, too. The Quick Service Disney Dining Plan is $57.01 per night per adult and $23.83 per night per child. The Basic Disney Dining Plan is $94.28 per night per adult and $26.69 per night per child. Note that the Disney Dining Plan must be booked before you arrive at your Disney World hotel.
