Do You Even NEED Genie+ for Disney World's Busiest Rides Right Now?

With the rising crowds that have hit the Disney World parks throughout the fall and holiday season, it seemed almost certain that you would need to budget for Genie+ but, we’re here to tell you that might not be the case for your upcoming trip.

Deciding whether or not to purchase conveniences like Genie+ for your next Disney World trip might seem like an impossible task to decide in advance. With so many people flooding the parks lately for nighttime shows and special ticketed events it’s easy to feel like “doing it all” without the extra help just isn’t possible. We recently spotted a day at Disney World where you just didn’t need it to get through a full day of rides and shows.

Normally this is about the season we sound like a broken record asking you over and over again if you were in the Disney World parks, “Were you ok?” However, it seems like we may have finally hit a point in Disney’s Hollywood Studios this fall where we didn’t have to ask that.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a park that we typically recommend purchasing and using Genie+ to get in everything you want to see and do throughout your day but we’ve found a day where that wasn’t the case. Looking over the wait times on October 23rd, it seems that this park had a fairly chill day for crowds.

Slinky Dog Dash

The highest wait time that the park saw that day was 100 minutes for the Tower of Terror — since it is spooky season and all– while the rest of the highest wait times at other attractions hovered roughly an hour long. That’s pretty shocking compared to some of the wait times we’ve seen seasonally for this park in the past.

it just goes to show you that you think you might know the way the Disney World crowds are trending from season to season, but if you found yourself hanging around Disney’s Hollywood Studios this day, you probably could have easily finished what you wanted to see and do in this park without the added expense (and hassle) of using Genie+. That’s not the only surprise we found though– let’s take a quick look at what the wait times were like in the rest of Disney World on October 23rd!
