I’ve Stayed at EVERY Disney World Resort. Here’s Why BoardWalk Inn Is Worth It.

It’s my job to stay in and review Disney World hotels, and I’ve stayed in every single one.

Quincy at BoardWalk Inn

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Resort is one of the most charming resorts on property…but it’s also one of the most expensive. With room rates starting at $597 per night and reaching around $1,100 for a standard room (before you even hit club level), it can be hard to say if this hotel is really worth the spend. BoardWalk Inn might not be worth it for everyone, but it could be worth it for you.

Before we dive in, though, you can get a sense of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn with my full room and resort tour video! Watch it right here!

So let’s talk about it!

The Theming

BoardWalk Inn is themed, as you might guess, to an Atlantic City-inspired boardwalk complete with vintage decorations, carnival games, and even performers. The theme is all-encompasing throughout the hotel and really gives you the sense of being in a different era.

The lobby is charming and features a miniature amusement park and other nods to the past, and the BoardWalk itself provides the perfect view from the rooms. The hotel does feel a little dated in some places, but it’s in the middle of a big refurbishment that should keep the charm of the theme while refreshing common areas and guest rooms.

BoardWalk Lobby

A lot of people choose BoardWalk for its theme — though that’s not the only thing that makes it special. Fun fact! This was actually my bucket list hotel when I was a teenager because I loved the theme so much.

The Location

Besides the amenities, the biggest factor contributing to guests’ love for BoardWalk Inn and the price to stay there is the location. BoardWalk Inn sits right on Disney’s BoardWalk with access to dining, entertainment, and nightlife.

Beyond that, it’s in the EPCOT resort area meaning that it is walking distance to both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You can also take a boat to either of those two parks and access the Skyliner at the EPCOT station. Add the easy walking access to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin and Yacht and Beach Club Resorts and you’ll find that BoardWalk has perhaps one of the best locations of any Disney World hotel.

Rooms and Amenities

As a deluxe hotel, BoardWalk has a wide variety of rooms offering standard, garden, and water view rooms in addition to club level accommodations. When I stayed, I felt that my room was a little dull and dated, but the rooms are getting a refresh and the sneak peek looks pretty nice! The rooms are large and continue the impeccable theming you see around the hotel.

On top of that, BoardWalk has some pretty unique amenities. There are fireworks views from the BoardWalk! There’s also the Luna Park Pool, which features a 200 foot-long waterslide that looks like an old-fashioned wooden rollercoaster.

Perks-wise, you get access to all of the standard Disney deluxe hotel perks including free transportation, Early Theme Park Entry, Extended Evening Hours, and more!

Dining Options

Perhaps my favorite thing about the BoardWalk is the dining options. This hotel has a ton of dining! There’s Abracadabar, Big River Grille and Brewing Works, BoardWalk Deli, BoardWalk Ice Cream, BoardWalk Joe’s, the Pizza Window, Carousel Coffee, and Trattoria al Forno. Plus The Cake Bake Shop is coming soon!

And you can easily walk to dining at any of the other hotels or theme parks within walking distance!

Recreation and Activities

There’s a lot to do at the boardwalk, and some of the amenities are pretty unique! I mentioned the carnival games and street performers, but there are also bike and surrey bike rentals and the very popular Jellyrolls dueling piano bar right nearby.

Basically, your resort rest day will not be a dull one if you splurge and stay at the BoardWalk.

In conclusion, the price for the BoardWalk comes from its popular features, and for many, it’s worth the splurge. In my opinion, the location is the biggest draw here — though perhaps still not worth the higher price range. If you’re looking to book BoardWalk, I recommend traveling in a slower season (for cheaper rates!) and keeping an eye out for discounts!
