22 Movies You Had NO Idea Were on Disney+!

Disney+ has quickly become one of the most popular streaming services worldwide with over 103 MILLION subscribers.

With content like the Emmy-nominated series The Mandalorian and in depth expansions of the Marvel Cinematic Universe such as WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, it’s easy to understand why.

All of the new content is super exciting, but sometimes you just need to watch an old favorite, right?
Luckily, Disney+ has plenty from which to choose!

Obviously, you can find the princess and Pixar movies on Disney+, but there are a lot of other films on the service that you might not know about. Here are all of the movies you had no idea are on Disney+ (but that you need to rewatch on your next movie night)!

1. Flubber

Did you forget about this movie like we did? You can watch that little green guy bounce Robin Williams sky high and all the other hijinks that happen thanks to his accidental invention!

©Disney

Also, the movie is scored by The Nightmare Before Christmas composer Danny Elfman, so it’s got that going for it, too!

2. Sky High

This superhero flick can easily get overshadowed by the many Marvel movies on Disney+, but it’s so fun! Also, can you believe that Kurt Russell was in this movie?

©Disney

It’s such a unique look at superheroes, we would love to see a sequel.

3. Holes

Holes is an underrated Disney movie — we said what we said! Check out Stanley Yelnats try to break his family’s curse by digging holes and looking for treasure.

If you haven’t seen this movie since childhood, we suggest giving it a watch.

4. Splash

Did you know that former Walt Disney Company CEO Michael Eisner originally wanted to use Splash Mountain to market the movie Splash? So weird. And yet here we are, still talking about it.

©Disney

This movie takes the premise of “a fish out of water” to a whole new level, and it stars Tom Hanks AKA America’s Sweetheart.

5. The Muppet Christmas Carol

This is honestly one of the best versions of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol out there, no joke. Michael Caine being completely serious while surrounded by Muppets is absolutely brilliant acting, and the music is just great.

©Disney

Plus, it’s narrated by Gonzo and Rizzo the Rat, which is hilarious!

6. 10 Things I Hate About You

Heath Ledger and a strong female protagonist, need I say more? Okay, I will. This movie is based on William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew and is pure 90s bliss.

©Disney

Also Heath Ledger’s song and dance number on the bleachers is one of the best “confession of love” scenes in cinematic history.

7.  National Treasure

It may not be historically accurate, but National Treasure is very entertaining and a fun adventure movie!

©Disney

And the delivery of “I’m gonna steal the Declaration of Independence” from Nicolas Cage is incredible. Tell us you didn’t just hear that in his voice inside your head.

8. Bend It Like Beckham

Remember this movie? It’s underrated in the world of sports films and shows a girl doing whatever it takes to follow her passion for playing soccer.

©Disney

Plus, keeping the promise of its title, David Beckham makes a cameo!

9. Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen

Lindsay Lohan’s fashion in this movie is outstanding, like her signature Coca-Cola necklace.

©Disney

And her character, Lola, lives out so many teenagers’ dreams of hanging out with a rock star. Still so cool.

10. Eddie the Eagle

This movie follows the real life tale of British athlete Michael “Eddie” Edwards as he takes an unlikely journey to the Winter Olympics for ski jumping.

©Disney

It’s a great story about how far spirit and determination can take you.

11. George of the Jungle

This spoof of Tarzan is such a great feel good film, and it’s perfect if you just need a laugh.

©Disney

Brendan Fraser is so goofy as the lead. You’ll be yelling “watch out for that tree” from your couch!

12. Max Keeble’s Big Move

We used to love this movie when we were kids. Well, who are we kidding? We still do!

©Disney

Max Keeble’s Big Move has an epic food fight scene and even cameos from Lil Romeo and Tony Hawk.

13. Night at the Museum

This movie has so many stars, including Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Rami Malek, and the legendary Robin Williams.

©Disney

The museum coming to life is an amazing storyline, and the second movie is also on Disney+ for you to enjoy a double-header.

14. The Princess Bride

As you wish, this absolute classic is on Disney+, too! Disney princesses aren’t the only ones with fairytales.

©Disney

The Princess Bride is extremely quotable and never gets old, so have fun storming the castle!

15. Sister Act

This movie musical was so popular, it turned into an actual Broadway production! Whoopi Goldberg will have you cracking up.

©Disney

When you’re done with the first movie, the sequel is on Disney+ as well.

16. The Simpsons Movie

Now that Disney owns 20th Century Studios (previously 20th Century Fox), they also own the iconic The Simpsons franchise.

Head over to Disney+ to watch the movie based on the longest running television show of all time.

17. Ever After

This is one of the BEST versions of the classic Cinderella story (no offense to the original Cindy). Drew Barrymore is stunning, and Anjelica Huston makes the evil stepmother role much more complex.

©Disney

Plus, we love the twist of one of the stepsisters not being evil! You should watch this movie solely to see Drew’s ball gown; it’s incredible.

18. Hidden Figures

This Oscar-nominated movie tells the story of three important women in history who didn’t get the credit they deserved during their time.

©Disney

Mary Jackson, Katherine Johnson, and Dorothy Vaughan made critical contributions to help the U.S. in the 1960s Space Race. It’s a great story about representation, racism, and equal opportunities.

19. Ice Princess

This movie is awesome and severely underrated! It shows what the cutthroat world of competitive figure skating is like and a girl who discovers her true passion.

©Disney

Ice Princess also has one of the best “I’m not giving up my dream, I’m giving up yours” moments between a kid and a parent (just like Troy Bolton’s in High School Musical).

20. Miracle

DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES?! This is an absolutely epic movie. Kurt Russell’s iconic speech makes us tear up just thinking about it.

©Disney

This is a great watch to get you amped up for the Olympics this summer.

21. Isle of Dogs

This Oscar-nominated stop-motion movie is an adorable story about maybe the best thing in the whole world: an entire island of dogs!

©Disney

It’s told in the endearingly quirky style you can only get from Wes Anderson films.

22. Free Solo

To finish out our list we have an Oscar winner! This movie won for Best Documentary Feature and will have you on the edge of your seat.

©Disney

It’s nerve wracking to watch Alex Honnold climb the legendary El Capitan, but also exciting. Plus *spoiler alert*, you know he’s going to make it, obviously, because he’s still alive!

Those are the movies you may not have known are on Disney+. We know it’s easy to get distracted by all of the new content like Loki and Cruella, but we wanted to make you aware of some movies that also deserve a spot on your watchlist! Movies are added and taken off of Disney+ pretty regularly, so we’ll keep you updated on what other films we see pop up on the streaming service.
