Disney World rides are a big reason why people take their vacations to the parks.
We whoop and holler as we ride our favorite and classic Disney rides. One of the saddest things that can happen while you’re in the parks, though, is seeing the next ride you’re about to go on shut down — even if it is only temporary. Yesterday, April 1st, Disney World saw nine rides close! They must have been pulling an April Fools Day trick on all of us. 😒
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Mad Tea Party, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid, The Seas with Nemo and Friends, Kilimanjaro Safaris, and Slinky Dog Dash all closed at some point in the day. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was closed for over 5 hours alone!
We wish we could tell you this was all a joke, but it was not. Other than Big Thunder, the others were only closed for a short while. Hopefully, they didn’t put too big of a kink in anyone’s plans.
The best way to keep track of temporary ride closures in the parks is to use your My Disney Experience app (Disney World app). Wait times and closures are kept up to date throughout the day so you can easily plan which ride comes next.
