Universal fans! 2025 is going to be your YEAR.
Not only can you enjoy Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios, Volcano Bay, CityWalk, and more as usual, but the new Epic Universe theme park is set to open! Earlier this year we learned about the lands coming to the park and got an in-depth look at Celestial Park. Now, Universal just made some big announcements and we’ve got the scoop!
It all started with a cryptic message on social media with the date “3.28.24”. Then we got a surprise in the mail telling us to expect announcements about Isle of Berk — the How to Train Your Dragon land. The time has come and Universal is going ALL out.
The Isle of Berk will take fans right into the world of How to Train Your Dragon to live like Toothless, Hiccup, and the rest of the village Vikings.
Starting off strong, Universal announced its new rides and attractions for this land! The list includes the following:
- Hiccup’s Wing Gliders
- The Untrainable Dragon
- Fyre Drill
- Dragon Racer’s Rally
- Viking Training Camp
- Meet Hiccup and Toothless

Thanks to aerial photos, we’ve been able to watch the construction on this land and its rides. But now, we know exactly what we’re scoping out! Universal also revealed the height requirement for its new coaster in the announcements.
Next up, we got to hear about the new restaurants coming to this land. There are three new spots! Mead Hall is the village’s main gathering hall with a savory menu, Spit Fyre Grill is a quick service that overlooks the Fyre Drill attraction, and Hooligan’s Grub & Gruel is a new snack stand.
