Everyone is highly anticipating the opening of several new restaurant locations in Disney World.
We’ve talked a lot about The Cake Bake Shop and the Blue Ribbon Corn Dog Stand coming to Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. We have checked out eet by Maneet Chauhan which recently opened in Disney Springs. But there’s one place that no one is talking about, but they SHOULD be!
When you think about Florida, you think about summer all. year. long. This is why Florida is the perfect location for the new Summer House on the Lake restaurant that just opened in Disney Springs.
The restaurant opened in late 2023 and features an open-airy concept that is reminiscent of being along the beach and enjoying the sun and sea breeze.
According to their Instagram, it’s “The place where sunshine never ends.” And while this fits Florida, it also hits on the California-style menu we’ve seen. The restaurant features “California-inspired artisanal pizzas, pastas, fresh salads, sandwiches, and more.”
But there are a couple of things are MOST excited about at this new dining location. There is a dessert-focused market called “The Cookie Jar” where you can find “freshly baked cookies and house-made pastries.” We tried the Cookie Jar during our first visit and you can read more here!
And if that doesn’t get you excited, then we need to tell you about the signature Rosé Cart and the THREE bars. There will be more than six varieties of rosé offered on the cart and many other offerings at the bars.
Also, Summer House offers a Cali-Mex brunch every Saturday and Sunday from 9AM to 3PM with a wide variety of options like Mexican Hash Browns, Breakfast Pizza, pancakes, Breakfast Tostadas, and more!

I am bummed about the Cake Shop because I think we need more restaurant options on the Boardwalk, not dessert. Or should be a combo like the Lake House.
For Star Wars hotel they should have opened like a regular hotel with not such a high price and the interactive piece. We come to go to WDW, not just stay at the hotel. Hoping they reopen that way.
I don’t mean to be a downer but I just don’t see that Cake Shop working at the Boardwalk. It’s like 18-20 dollars for a slice of cake. Families are not going to spend that kind of money for cake. I also predicted that the Star Wars Hotel wasn’t going to make it either. Just my two cents.
