Ever since Genie+ was introduced in Disney World in 2021, we’ve seen a LOT of changes.

New attractions have been added, prices have changed for Individual Lightning Lanes, and policies have changed over time. But now, Disney is announcing a BIG change that you’ll need to know about!

Since its launch, Genie+ has cost Disney World guests $15 per ticket, per day. Now, Disney World is introducing variable pricing depending on the day.

Similar to the way that Disney prices theme park tickets, prices for Genie+ will be higher during busy times and lower during the less crowded season. Now through the end of October, the price will remain at $15 on less busy days, $22 on the busier days, and somewhere in between for the other dates, according to Disney.

These prices are subject to change again after the end of October. Keep in mind that currently, the only way to purchase Genie+ for Disney World is through the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit, starting at midnight.

We’ll keep our eye on the prices for Genie+ and continue to update you with any changes. These flexible prices could spell big changes for those traveling during the holiday season, when the numbers are likely to be much higher.

  1. I used genie plus in September and was able to ride things I haven’t been able to in the past. I think it’s a great thing and yes, it costs more but that’s the way it works… more perks more money. Just like anything else. I’ll continue to use it and I feel like it is a very good solution to the crowd problem

  2. It’s very possible this trip in November will be our last. Sad to say. But I think the CEO wanted to create rich Superfans only that come to the parks and see what’s the most he can get before people stop coming. Well, its possible we found our “ceiling”. We’ve never gone with Genue+ so we’ll see how it goes and know from there. We decided to not book 1 single dining reservation bc it seems like we’ll never know how or if or when we’ll get a ride and I can’t imagine trying to pick around a meal res. I’m sure it will be magical bc we will make it that way, but it might be our last trip. The 50th celebration, maybe not a bad time to go out. Thanks to All Ears we feel we’re armed with s some great info so thank you very much for all you guys do. And DFB too!

  3. I would not buy Genie+ at a higher price and will probably not buy it at the $15 price either. Our experience in early June (not supposed to be one of the busier times) was awful. Over 4 days, we were only able to get 3 of the rides we wanted. What a joke. And this was 11 people in our party paying an extra $15 per day, per person. Over $600 for practically nothing. It’s all about the money, so sad.

  4. I would not buy Genie + at a higher price. I believe it’s a waste of money and scam. I purchased it for 4 days and Disney has it methodically planned out so guests are forced to use them at certain times and the rides Disney chooses. Very disappointing.

  5. Now I am very happy I bought it in advance for my trip starting the Friday after Thanksgiving. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to because some days you don’t need it as much but in the end we decided why not with how busy it will be and not wanting to buy it everyday. Sounds like it my now be cheaper this way.
