Pros: Atmosphere
Cons: Price, Loud

We had a group of 7, and no reservations. We were seated within 30 minutes. The service was very good we had. I ordered a shrimp dish that was supposed to be coconut seasoned. When I tasted it, was disappointed. It was just plain deep fat fried breaded shrimp. I think the kids liked all the sounds and sites around us. This place is very loud also, be prepared for that.

Pros: Great food, wait staff very good
Cons: not on the dining plan :(

I went to T-Rex on 1/16 for the second time. We waited 1 hr for our table, which is how long they told us it would be when we put our name in. We finally sat down at about 8:10pm....I told our waitress that we had 9pm reservations at Cirque du Soleil and asked her if she thought we could make it....she was very helpful, and honest and told us, it depended on what we ordered. She suggested sandwiches...so my daughters and I each had the Tarragon Chicken Salad on a Croissant which were huge, and we all loved it. My DH had Fried Shrimp which we he loved too. We inhaled our meal, and sprinted to Cirque....we made it too. I believe Rachael was the name of our waitress, she was excellent and because of her, we had some great food and still got to see the show. I wish I had had time to talk to the manager to put in a good word for her. T-Rex is noisy, entertaining for kids, and has great food.

Pros: atmosphere
Cons: service and food

This was our second time here...first time was excellent..This time was not. The atmosphere was excellent. Both our kids love the loud dinosaur theme.

Our server was terribly slow. DH had the chicken sandwich which he really enjoys. Kids had the dino nuggets. They were ok. I had the fish sandwich. It was terrible. Two sad little fish sticks on a giant bun with tons of lettuce and tomato. I had the same sandwich this past June and really enjoyed it. When the server came over to ask how everything was, I told him how disappointed I was...he seemed less than interested and sent the manager over. I showed him the sandwich, and he agreed that it was "really sad looking"...however he then proceeded to tell me that there is no way that I had a better sandwich in June...that the "specifications of that sandwich" had never changed...ummm...ok... ??? He then told me he would speak to the executive chefs when they came in regarding my feedback...ummm...ok...Thanks?

I know you are really paying for the *atmosphere* here...but the food is so crazy expensive that they really should serve, at the very least, decent food. We will be passing on TREX our next trip.

Pros: Lots of scenery!
Cons: Lots of people!!!

Had a snack here December 29th. Sat at the bar. Had french onion soup and the duo dips of queso and shrimp/artichoke dip. The food was quite good, well, really good actually! It came piping hot and fresh. The shrimp/artichoke dip had pieces of both in it and the soup was piping hot and covered in cheese. Sure, it's a little pricey, soup , chips, lemonade & 1 beer was $40 with tip. The line was super long when we got there but it was walk-in basis when we left an hour later.

Pros: Atmosphere and Friendly Staff
Cons: Tad to noisey

We went to Florida during the time of 6 Dec to 20 Dec. We visited this place in 2008 and thought it was very good. They have improved the menu since last year and now I would say it's better than the Rainforest.

Pros: atmosphere, food, service
Cons: none

We had dinner here on December 11th. We were seated within 5 minutes of our check-in. Our server was very nice and prompt. I had the paleonzoic chicken sandwich which was fantastic! The waffle fries and onion rings were also delicious. Will absolutely eat here again.

Pros: great theme
Cons: very crowded

We've eaten lunch here before when it first opened last year. The foods really good and the dinosaurs are great.
This time we went in for a snack. I did try for a couple of weeks to get a reservation, but couldn't. We were able to walk right in. Tip: ask to sit at the bar. You can still see all of the action and you don't have to wait at all.
My son is on a gluten and dairy free diet. Since we couldn't warn them ahead of time about his diet, they didn't have much in the way of snacks. They gave him a big bowl of strawberries with chocolate syrup on it. I know that if I had made a reservation, they would have been able to have more of selection for him.

Pros: the whole experience
Cons: price, not on dining plan

Ate here 11/10.

Food is good. Had the burger which is huge.

The atmosphere is really why you go. Yes it is loud but it is really cool at the same time. The kids loved the dino's, jelly fish, and watching the ice room change color (which we asked to not be seated in so we could see the dino's and meteor shower better).

Visited Build-A-Dino afterward. The kids had looked forward to that and the prices are reasonable.

Only complaint is that it is not on the dining plan.

Pros: everything
Cons: 0

My family of 4 ate here on Nov. 19th for my 14 year old son's birthday, before heading off to Disney Quest. This was our 3rd time eating here this year, and as always, it didn't disappoint. We shared a few appetizers, because we were having an early dinner. The food was yummy, and the service was great. We sat in the meteor room, which was cool. The wait staff even brought my son a cupcake, and sang to him.

Pros: interesting theme
Cons: Noise level, price, crowded

I felt like I was screaming at the waitstaff and my dinner partner. There is simply too much going on! The food was okay but not good enough for the prices. The tables are too close together, making it hard to manuever. I was unable to get a reservation 3 months in advance, but as a walk-in for the same night (11/3/09), I was seated in 15 minutes! I doubt I will go there again. Would only recommend for people whose kids are dinosaur crazy.

Pros: Atmosphere, food was awesome, wait staff was excellent
Cons: None at all

First, LOVED it here! When we first walked in, it was really awe-inspiring. It is beautiful and unique. The ice cave is amazing and changed colors throughout our meal. The meteor shower is awesome and happened several times while we were there. With such a cool atmosphere, we didn't expect the food or service to be anything good. Both were excellent! I had french onion soup that was among the best I have ever had. My husband's burger was delicious as well! Our waiter was excellent (Jason). Really enjoyed how friendly he was. We had advance reservations for early lunch, but the place filled up pretty quickly.

WARNING: it is very noisy - but my husband and I were still able to talk. I would HIGHLY recommend going here - it was one of our best meals ever at Disney!

Pros: atmosphere
Cons: long wait for food

We(party of 9) ate here on Tuesday, November 10th. Had to wait only a few minutes for a table (we had call-ahead seating). The adults had lasagna, mushroom ravioli, cheeseburger and chicken salad croissant sandwich. Kids had pizza and mac and cheese. The food definitely surpassed our expectations. Everyone enjoyed their meals. There was a long wait for the meals after ordering but that was o.k. The kids were entertained with the coloring pages, dinasaurs and, meteor showers. This is a very loud restaurant but what do you expect? It's a theme restaurant. We had a very competent server and thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

Great atmosphere, below average food. That pretty much sums it up.

Pros: Great theming, large portions
Cons: Too Loud, average service and average meal

Maybe it was the high expectations for our September 09 visit to a new dining location in the Downtown area... but the T-Rex fell short of the hype. As advertised, the visual experience was fantastic. That and the portion sizes were about the only positives of the meal.

In fairness to the T_Rex. We knew it would be loud. We did not anticipate having to (literally) shout our orders to the waitress and not hearing a single word back from her. Nor did we anticipate sitting in virtual silence, because we could not hear any conversation at our table. There were only four of us, so that is saying something. It could have been the location right next to one of the animatronics. Nevertheless, it made for a poor dining experience.

I had an Omnivore Salad, others had burgers or pasta. The food was "OK". Very much in line with the Rainforest Cafe fair. Huge portions, I would never say too large, but everyone at the table had food left on our plate at the end of the meal.

For what it is worth, we don't have kids and had been traveling with our parents (in their young 60's) and the T-Rex may have just been too stimulating for us. We saw many families with children, of all ages, that truly seemed to enjoy the constant noise, movement and overall activity. And, seemingly little care of the quality or quantity of food.

Looking back, this would have been a great place to duck into, enjoy a drink or two at the bar. Take in the experience and have a quiet meal elsewhere in Downtown Disney.

Pros: Decor outstanding
Cons: Slow, slow service

We ate hear on a Thursday evening. We had a 15 minute wait and got seated at 6.30pm. It was our first visit here and the decor is outstanding. It makes the Rainforest Cafes look subdued in comparison. We skipped starters and ordered mains. Around 50 minutes later - and I am quite sure on time because we saw three meteor showers- they arrived. Our waitress seemed rushed with too many tables to cope with. Food seemed to come out randomly. People seated before us were still waiting, people who came in after us got their food.I got to thinking that perhaps the dinosaurs died out because of starvation! The food was good to ok when it did turn up. My daughter had the Meteor bites desert - beware it is a huge portion and would have served all four of us. Overall a great location and decor - just let down by the service.
