Pros: Characters!
Cons: Chaotic & noisy

Mom, brother, fiance and I ate breakfast on 11/15 at Chef Mickey's. We were seated right near the buffet which was good, but waited a while for our server who was frazzled, to say the least. I thought she was going to collapse, she seemed so stressed out! Luckily she calmed down throughout the meal and made our experience a good one, so I'm guessing the initial rush was just overwhelming...we were there at 8:10 when things were just starting to get crazy.

The food was a step up from that at 1900 Park Fare but still not on par with the Crystal Palace. More of the same...Mickey Waffles, but lots of fresh fruit which was pretty good. A good sampler of baked goods to choose from. The food definitely met my expectations.

The characters were a hoot. We LOVED Goofy especially...we played around with him quite a bit, which was a real treat for us considering we are a party of four adults. The characters were all very excited by our "just engaged pins," and we were thrilled when our server brought out a cupcake and lit candles for us to blow out. She announced us to the room right before the special dance party and told us to wait til it was over to blow out our candles. We did as we were told and nearly died laughing when Goofy ran over to us and put out our candles with his gloves...he pinched the flames and was quite pleased with himself. That was pretty awesome.

We saw Donald, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Goofy. If your child or family loves the "Fab 5" then you really can't miss Chef Mickey's. Forget about the food here, because the characters are a hot commodity and their outfits are pretty adorable. We got some really cute pictures here.

While this isn't something we'll do all the time, we're really glad we came to Chef Mickey's. Definitely a fun place for families to enjoy breakfast before heading to the Magic Kingdom!

Pros: fun, kid-friendly
Cons: crowded

As our last meal of our vacation 10/3/09, it was a great time before we headed home. Saw every character who posed for pictures. Better than standing on all those long lines within the parks.

Food was good- kids loved it. Had to wait about 15 minutes (with reservations). Would have like a little more healthier choices, but we were more than satisfied.

On the car ride home- all my kids asked if next time we can eat there 3 or 4 days for breakfast before hitting the parks, and I think I agree. Of all the places we ate on our dining plan this is a tie for 1st place.

Pros: Characters
Cons: Food

My kids love this place and can't wait to get here - the character interaction is great and heck...it's Mickey Mouse!! But for adults, I can't recommend. Food is nothing better than you'd get at a holiday inn buffet. And for the price they could have at least thrown in an omellette station.

Pros: Character interaction; MICKEY!
Cons:

This was our first time eating at Chef Mickey's, so we really didn't know what to expect. Had an ADR at 8:10am on 10-23. Arrived about 10 minutes early and got seated right away! Characters made there way around within 10 minutes of us seating down! It is always awesome to see MICKEY and the gang! Food was ok, typical breakfast types of food. Our waitress was nice and refilled our drinks right away! Would probably come back to see MICKEY again!

Pros: Food and the characters
Cons: You have to know what you are getting into

We ate here Sunday Oct 24 with a 10 a.m. ADR. I wish they had a separate line for ADRs, but after waiting in line for the check in booth, we did not have much of a wait. The food was good with some good selections that we both enjoyed and it was crowded, but this is Character dinning in one of the nicest resorts. Watching the Monorail come through is trippy, and with all of the people, there is a good deal of noise. We would have ate more, but we enjoyed the Food & Wine Festival the day before.

Pros: Characters
Cons: Cold food, very crowded

This was my second visit to Chef Mickey's and possibly my last. Sure they have the best characters for sure, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Donald but for the cost I would go elsewhere and see less characters. The food was not hot or even hardly warm and the choices weren't that great. The interaction time is ok, but the place is so big and crowded they don't have time to spend a lot with each table. We also did the Beach Club breakfast this trip, that was better food and much better character interaction for sure.

Pros: characters, service, food
Cons: getting there

Chef Mickey's continues to be one of our favorites. It can take a bit longer to get there if you take buses and monorails but it is worth it. Just build in enough time. The food is good. Nothing out of the ordinary for a buffet. There is plenty to choose from. The best part is the characters. They come through quickly so you are not waiting around for long periods of time. It is alot of fun. Even the grandparents enjoyed it.

Pros: Mickey Mouse
Cons: Service

Visited 9.18.09: Character interaction was great, food was good, service was not. Each character went to each table (Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy). Doubt I would do it again, but it would probably be great for someone who has to see Mickey.

Pros: Surprisingly good food , great service
Cons: Too crowded... but thats because it's worth it !

THIS to me IS Disney World ! Great location to go for your first morning at Disney as your anticipation has reached fever pitch to get to the parks. Character interaction is terrific. Food was wonderful. Our server was great, unlike many other Disney buffet experiences where you leave wondering why you tipped. We never had a 1/2 empty juice or dirty plate. She got the kids motivated, took pictures,etc.. Follow breakfast by either walking it off a bit to MK or take the monorail loop around and start your magical day.

Pros: Food, Characters
Cons: Availabilty

This is a must do for us every trip even before we had kids. It just its the ultimate disney dining experience with Mickey and crew. Food is standard buffet fare but good and consistent but we always leave with a smile.

Pros: Characters and food
Cons: noise level

We had a very late breakfast here (11:00AM) on 9/5 and loved it. By that time, most people had started to clear out to head to the parks and we had a LOT of time with each of the characters. In fact, they made two rounds to come visit us. It's so much fun when they have the dance party in the room and all the little kids get up and start jumping around with the characters.

The food was good, traditional breakfast fare; eggs, waffles, french toast, etc. My son seemed to love the breakfast pizza they have for the kids.

If you go, I definitely recommend going later. You get breakfast for lunch and a lot more time with the characters (which is why you're there!).

Pros: Characters, food
Cons: service

This was our second visit to Chef Mickeys and we found the character interaction to be decent, particularly from Goofy and Pluto. The buffet was good and replenished frequently. Everyone found items they enjoyed. The wait was not bad, only about 15 minutes. There is a lot of confusion about the photo package, as many people believed this was included with the meal and the photo delivery people did not make it clear. We chose not to have our photos taken as we had them from other meals, but this was a point of contention with a few surrounding tables. Our server was slow to refill drinks and remove plates and was not the friendliest person, but other than that, this was a nice experience.

Pros: characters
Cons: slow to check in, food okay

My boyfriend and I had a 10:00 am reservation on August 10th. We waited a few minutes to get checked in and then waited about 25 minutes to get seated. We were seated in an alcove against a window overlooking the Contemporary's pool. It was a pretty nice view but I was worried that we wouldn't see the characters. The characters were very slow to come around since we weren't in the main seating area. The food was only okay - nothing to rave about. After an hour, we ended up leaving before all the characters came to our table. We didn't want to spend anymore time waiting so we got on the monorail and headed to Magic Kingdom!

Pros: Nice assortment of characters, decent food
Cons: Lines to check in, slow moving buffet lines

Check in to Chef Mickey's was slow. We waited about 20 min just to get to the podium. Thankfully we were there prior to our reservation time. Upon checking in, waited about 5-6 minutes for the pager to go off. Didn't take the photo the offer because I knew I wasn't buying it. I think it should be included in your meal price like it is at Akershus or the Castle. $31 extra for a photo is a lot.

The food here was typical breakfast fair but very good. I especially enjoyed the cheesy potato casserole. The con about the buffet is it moves at a snail's pace. It took a good 15 minutes to get good (and it's not like the food choices are endless). I even missed Mickey Mouse coming to our table. The people next to us snapped my DH picture but I never got to get one. I almost missed Goofy too, only that I made it back from my trek just as he was starting to leave my table but came back when he saw me.

Overall, its a nice place especially for small kids. The joy on their faces was priceless. They just need to speed up the buffet line and check ins.
