ESPN Wide World of Sports Hidden Mickeys

My son Steven and I enjoyed our annual Spring Training Baseball Game at Wide World of Sports.

This year, we watched the Atlanta Braves take on the Houston Astros. We lived in Houston way back when, so we’re Astros fans. Of course, we’re at Disney World, which is the Altanta Braves home base for Spring Training, so we were surrounded by Braves fans. No matter, everyone had fun at the game!

Each year, we check out the classic (three-circle) Hidden Mickey in center field, which was even harder to spot than usual. After the game, we climbed to the highest seats in the bleachers to get the best view. The image is made of faint slanted thin rows of grass.

Look above my index finger. The Hidden Mickey is in the grass near the fence.

After the game, kids are allowed onto the field to run the bases.

We strolled around the Wide World of Sports property to admire a few more of the Hidden Mickeys there. Mickey is still up in the rafters at The Milk House (Field House). I find him to the upper left of the lower seats of section 104.

Sometimes, you can spot classic Mickeys traced around pitcher’s mounds on the softball fields. (Thanks to Sharon Dale and Michelle MacVane).

We had a great day at WWS, even though the Astros lost 3-2!

Steve Barrett is a doctor and Disney nut whose favorite Walt Disney World memory is strolling through the Magic Kingdom with his young son on his shoulders. Not surprisingly, his favorite spot in the World is anywhere there's a Hidden Mickey. He suggests that all visitors take some time to chat with cast members, especially when looking for Hidden Mickeys, as they can enrich your Disney experience and make it even more magical.
