WDW with College Friends

Judy planned a college reunion for our small group of friends, University of Houston graduates.

They wanted to converge in Orlando (lucky for me!) so that I could show them around Disney World. John and family are from Virginia, Judy and her clan are from Louisiana, Rhona’s group is from Texas and Paula is from Arizona. Taken in the Grand Floridian Resort lobby, the top photo shows (from the left) me, Rhona, John, Paula and Judy. The second photo includes their families.

John’s son Zhenya (born in Russia) enjoys wakeboarding behind one of Sammy Duvall’s Watersports power boats at the Contemporary Resort. Zhenya will join the Marines this October.

In front of the Contemporary Resort, I was able to snap a photo of the “Hidden Pluto” on the front of a Disney Cruise Line bus.

One afternoon, we enjoyed entertainment along the BoardWalk, like this really good juggler.

One evening from a boat in Bay Lake, we spotted the “bear’s face” in the lights on the back of the Wilderness Lodge

Everyone had a blast! They’re already planning their return visits!

  1. I’ve always enjoyed visiting Disney World with my wife.

But living on the West Coast has limited our opportunities to spend time there with other friends and family.

I’m jealous of those who are able to spend time in such a Magical place with friends and family.

Steve, you are lucky, I’m glad you had a great time!
