You've heard the term but maybe you're not exactly sure what a blog is. Well, first off, the word blog is a blend of the words web and log (web log), and it derives from the practice of keeping an online journal. So blogs contain entries almost like a diary, that are displayed in a reverse chronological order. Most blogs deal with a particular subject, such as politics or news, and the author of the blog can be as opinionated about the subject as he or she wants, as it is very much like a personal journal. In fact, many blogs are little more than an online diary, covering a variety of topics at the discretion of the author. Blogs typically use mostly text, with occasional images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. By the way, the term "blog" is also used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog. We here at AllEars® have decided it's time for us to try our hand at blogging, too.
THE ALL EARS® BLOGS! All Ears® blogs are random musings about Disney and it's vacation kingdoms around the world -- we'll share some of our opinions, experiences, tips, random thoughts on trip planning and live reports. The blogs section of AllEars® will be different than what you may typically find on the AllEars® website -- these blogs may contain more editorial content, speculation, rumor, and good old fashion rambling about our favorite topics. We also will cover the range of Disney experiences - be it in Florida, California, on the Disney Cruise Ships, Adventures by Disney, special events, at the movies or anywhere else the broad umbrella of Disney takes us. Meet the AllEars® Blog Central Team: Our blogs began with an AllEars.Net personality you are already familiar with -- and we don't mean Minnie! Deb Wills, founder of AllEars®.net and Editor-in-Chief of the site's free weekly email newsletter, ALL EARS®, shares her adventures in her blog, "Deb's Digest." Shortly after Mike Scopa, feature writer with All Ears® and co-host of WDW Today Podcast, joined the team. Mike's blog is called "The View from Scopa Towers". Laura Gilbreath, is our bicoastal blogger, covering Walt Disney World and Disneyland with her blog "Laura's Disney Lines". Steve Barrett, author of the Hidden Mickey's Guide and the Hassle-Free Walt Disney World Vacation will blog about his travels in the parks in "Searching Disney with Steve". Jack Spence shares his experiences and findings in "The World According to Jack". Our Picture This! Blog is all about photography. Barrie Brewer, Scott Thomas, and Lisa Berton share their photos and knowledge. Florida resident Dizney Mike Bachand recently joined our blogging crew and writes about his frequent visits to the parks. Our other team members write about their trips to the World in the Team Blog, and our new Team AllEars® Running Team has its own blog, as well. Finally from time to time we have Guest Bloggers! in the Orlando area. He is a Florida Annual Passholder who visits
WDW on an average of once a week. Besides his love for WDW, Mike
has a large collection of Disney books, figurines and ornaments
and is a former Disney Cast Member working as a Concierge at the
Contemporary Resort.
