Dear Member,
On behalf of our entire Disney Vacation Club team … Happy Holidays to you and your family! Here’s hoping it has been an unforgettable year filled with special Disney moments and plenty of Membership Magic.
As you know, we are always making big plans for the future around here, specifically as they relate to your vacation experience. With that in mind, I am thrilled to share a few details about some new advantages and benefits coming your way in the New Year:
– As always, we’re continuously working on enhancements to your digital experience. Starting next summer, we’ll give you expanded functionality and convenience on the Member website, letting you not only make but also modify your reservations when you’re booking Disney Vacation Club resorts with points. The enhanced site will also be mobile friendly so you can make and modify your reservations right from your smart phone.
– In early 2018, Reunion Station will open adjacent to Geyser Point Bar & Grill at the new Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Reunion Station is being created exclusively for you, our Members, and will function as a concierge lounge serving a light breakfast and happy hour offerings (a nightly fee applies). You may also book unique activities at Reunion Station, like wine tastings and photography classes. During certain times of day, the new lounge will simply provide a peaceful place to relax.
– Your in-room experience has never been more important to us. That’s why we will begin removing trash from your rooms at Disney Vacation Club resorts on a daily basis in addition to regular housekeeping visits. The daily service begins December 22, 2017, at five resort properties (Bay Lake Tower, Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian, Disney’s Grand Californian and Aulani). The service extends to all other Disney Vacation Club resorts on January 7, 2018.
– You will enjoy more Moonlight Magic dates than ever in 2018, with events already confirmed for every month from January through November. Included are the first Moonlight Magic events at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where the highly anticipated Toy Story Land will have made its debut by the time Members take over the park. Also planned is a return to Disney California Adventure, where Paradise Pier will have been transformed into Pixar Pier. Click here for confirmed dates.
– Launched in 2016 as part of Disney Vacation Club’s celebration of “25 years and beyond,” the Member Lounge on the second floor of the Imagination! Pavilion at Epcot became an instant hit. The lounge’s popularity prompted its extended operation in 2017, and I’m pleased to report that it’s scheduled to remain open throughout 2018. If you happen to be visiting Epcot, I encourage you to stop by the lounge between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily to enjoy comfortable seating, complimentary soft drinks, Wi-Fi, device-charging stations, access to Member Service Advisors and more.
– We know how important it is for you to reach Member Services at convenient times. With that in mind, we have extended the hours for Member Services by 90 minutes each day – to 9 p.m. ET on weekdays and to 7 p.m. ET on weekends.
– You’ve been asking about this for a long time, and I couldn’t be more pleased to provide it: Personalized merchandise. We’re talking about shirts, hats and other apparel and gift items that are customizable for each Member and their resort. You can even add the milestone year you joined Disney Vacation Club. – And don’t forget about the exclusive ticket savings we’re offering Members and guests at Walt Disney World Resort, available for purchase for only a few more days (you can buy them through January 3, 2018, and activate them through the end of 2018). We have owned ourDVC timeshare for 17 years .We are no longer able to find reservations for a full week if we don’t reserve at our 11 months window. Not sure what has happened the last couple of years but the availability for units at all except Saratoga Springs has been impossible to get at 9 months out. I think this needs to be addressed some how. We are your Disney loyals and come yearly, I feel we should get more perks not less. Please work on this.
At the very least DVC members should be given a free length of stay beverage mug. A small perk of appreciation goes a long way with DVC families.
I’ve recently stayed a couple of times in a studio at Saratoga Springs and see that they are replacing glasses and coffee mugs with paper ones. Apparently this is a new initiative.
I think it’s a very backwards step – who wants to drink wine on the balcony out of a paper cup – this doesn’t make it feel like a luxury resort or a ‘home away from home’
I would like to see the Member Midnight Madness dates expanded to possibly once a month or more. It is never offered when we vacation which is late Oct. or Early November. So we can never take advantage of this perk like others that can get there more often. We live too far away for frequent trips.
All good points made. A larger fast pass and dining window would not cost WDW anything, but make it so much easier and less stressful for DVC members to book meals and plan their trips.
Aside from that, WDW seems to be dropping some of the little nice touches that DVC members used to get. I have gotten no “Welcome Home” on certain trips, maybe once in a awhile a little chocolate or “anything” that says we appreciate you being part of the FAMILY! 🙂
How about letting people that “truly” need a wheelchair accessible studio or villa book one in a non-home resort before the seven month window. By seven months, they are all gone.
I agree the extra magic hours should only be for guest staying on Disney Property
I’m glad that I’m not the only one who sees a problem with allowing guests off property utilize extra magic hours. Just when there’s a glimmer of hope, that we’re “special” for buying the magic, they ruin it. The parks are too crowded, extra magic hours WERE great for people paying for Disney, not the Holiday Inn.
As dvc members we technically own Florida property therefore should be entitled to Florida resident ticket prices. The current discount offer is a good start, but still way more expensive than resident prices.
Why can’t they work on a discount on the dining plan for us?? or free dining when its running??
How about allowing DVC members to make dining reservations as far out as when they book their resort this is a perk,that costa Disney nothing. It’s so difficult to get some dining reservations in the current system this would give DVC members a chance to get a prime reservation at sought after places such as Be Our Guest.
All moderately good news above. How about
a few more perks for members, since now Disney
springs resorts will be getting Extra Magic Hours
and a 60 day fast pass booking window? Now that
i think about it, what’s the advantage of staying
on property as a DVC member other than it is a lot
more expensive. Seems like I won’t be adding on
points since I can get the “core” of what I want
staying at a Disney Springs Resort when my points
are low.
