Planning the Disney Magic Panama Canal Cruise

I’m very excited to be on the Disney Magic in just a couple days as it sets sail through the Panama Canal on it’s way to Los Angeles. In 2005, the Magic did it’s first Panama Canal sailing and while I really wanted to go, I couldn’t take that much time off from work.

Well, over a year ago when the 2008 Disney Cruises were announced, I jumped on the Panama Cruise! We’ve got our favorite Category 7 (Navigator’s Verandah) cabin. It’s 15 nights and there are more sea days than port days — which is perfect for me. I find the ship a very relaxing way to travel and enjoy the days onboard.

As Mickey says, Big dooin’s goin on, so let’s get started!”

Our ports of call as we leave Florida are: Castaway Cay, Aruba, Acapulco, Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta. We don’t dock in Panama; we spend the day going thru the canal. Everyone I talk with speaks so highly of the canal day that we are really excited.

We also have Palo fine dining reservations for brunch and high tea and a group dinner in the private dining room.

And since I mentioned we are traveling with a group, here’s a listing of who we are traveling with. Most of these folks we met on a Disney Cruise and we have been sailing together yearly (or almost yearly) every since. We have traveled on various cruise lines and visited various ports of call in the Caribbean, Alaska and the Mediterranean.

Deb (me) and Linda – From Maryland
Sandy and Sharon – Sandy from Michigan and Sharon Georgia
George and Ann – from Ohio
Beci and Chris (MouseFanTravel.com) – Washington State
Gary and Karen – New York

And then there around 100 cabins of cruisers from the DISboards community.

Here is the itinerary:
