Hundreds of Disney Adults Say THIS Is Their Favorite Hotel in Disney World

With so many hotels to choose from during your stay at Walt Disney World, it’s no surprise that there isn’t an obvious “best hotel” among the Disney World fanbase.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort

After filing through all the different types of pricing, perks, and locations for each Disney World hotel before your vacation, it’s safe to say one might be a bit overwhelmed. We get it — planning a Disney World vacation is no easy task. Fortunately, we turned to YOU, the reader, for some hotel guidance — and you didn’t disappoint!

We asked our readers which Disney World hotel is their favorite, and the majority of responses confidently listed Disney’s Wilderness Lodge as their top choice! The runner-ups included Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, in that order.

So why did Disney’s Wilderness Lodge edge out the rest of its competition? Let’s take a look!

This Deluxe Resort is themed after the Old Faithful Lodge (circa 1904) in Yellowstone National Park and offers outdoor activities such as nature trails and scenic views as well as indoor luxuries that honor American craftsmanship and elegant lodging.

This immersive resort is only a short boat ride from Magic Kingdom, features a HUGE multi-story lobby that displays authentic Pacific Northwest artifacts, has an amazing pool, and its very own geyser.

Copper Creek Springs Pool

The lakeside resort boasts 728 rooms including the Boulder Ridge Villas, Copper Creek Villas, and Cabins at Wilderness Lodge, which are all  Disney Vacation Club (DVC) villas, studios, or cabins. These rooms don’t require you to be a DVC member to stay there, however.

Wilderness Lodge isn’t short on great dining options either. They are as follows:

  • Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White features an enchanted forest design that has character dining with Snow White every evening.
  • Whispering Canyon Cafe is a western-themed family-style restaurant with kooky antics including “horse races”.
  • Territory Lounge is adjacent to Artist Point and serves as a relaxing lounge that serves drinks and coffee, as well as appetizers and light snacks.
  • Roaring Fork is a quick-service barbecue restaurant that is open from 7AM to midnight daily.
  • Geyser Point Bar & Grill overlooks Bay Lake and has outdoor, covered seating. Geyser Point serves lunch and dinner with a full-service bar. You can watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks with piped-in music in the evenings here!

Readers referred to this resort as “impressive” and specifically highlighted that staying here during the holiday season is a real treat.

  1. This may be the best hotel in some readers’ views, but absolutely NOT in my family’s. We unknowingly got placed directly above the Whispering Canyon Cafe. Hearing “We want ketchup!” from 7am until 10pm was a miserable way to wake up and (not) fall asleep every day. Please take my advice: This is definitely a situation where you need to request a room to ensure you don’t get stuck in this area. Paying several hundreds of dollars a night only to get stuck with these screams is the antithesis of a “vacation”.
