5 Remarkably Good Ideas from Disney World Experts That You Need To Hear Before Your Next Trip

We all think we know what the BEST things are to do at Disney World, right?

Whether it’s, “Ride this ride” or, “Eat at that restaurant,” we feel we know the absolute best way to do the most at the parks. We always love getting more suggestions from you, so we asked you for the best piece of Disney World advice you’ve ever gotten.

We reached out to our followers on Facebook to ask: “What’s the BEST piece of Disney World advice you’ve ever gotten?” We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments!

What do you think?

Now, let’s go over your top responses! (Not necessarily in any particular order.)

Take Your Time

This cannot be overstated. For some, a Disney World trip is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Others are Annual Passholders and visit the parks on the daily. Either way, the last thing we’d want for anyone is to rush and not have the greatest experience they could.

Kevin at Animal Kingdom

You said as much in your responses like:

  • “Take your time and don’t rush and rush.”
  • “Take your time and enjoy the experience.”
Expedition Everest

Again, there’s so much to see and so much to do. Please oh please take a breath and don’t rush. You’ll be happier for it.

Your Shoes Need To Be A Priority

This is a suggestion we are also making all the time! You’re going to be on your feet A LOT. It’s a fact of Disney World life, so you need to come prepared! (Trust us, you don’t need to bring those heels you haven’t worn yet.)

You’ll do lots of walking in EPCOT

You’ve got exactly the right idea with these responses:

  • “Wear your most comfortable, well-broken-in shoes.”
  • “Take two pairs of sneakers. Never wear the same pair two days in a row.”
  • “Change your shoes each day and never try to break in a new pair of sneakers on your trip.”
You’ll get your steps in walking at Hollywood Studios

Listen, we could talk ALL DAY about shoes. The short of it is just bring at least two pairs of comfortable shoes. If you want to see some examples, have a look here:

Take A Nap

You may have never thought about this before, and we wouldn’t blame you if you hadn’t, but Florida is hot and there’s a lot to do at Disney World, so you can get burned out with the quickness. Take it from us, since we’re in the parks all the time. You could do with a quick siesta during the hot parts of the day. That’ll help you immensely as you tackle your day.

It can get pretty sunny and hot around these parts

We couldn’t have said it any better ourselves:

  • “Take a nap during the heat of the day”
  • “Mid-afternoon naptime. As in, rope drop, then go back to the hotel and take a rest or nap mid-afternoon, then go back to the park until close.”
EPCOT at night

We know that Disney World vacations are pricey and that you want to maximize your day, but the last thing you want to do is to get burned out. Just have it in your head that you’re not superhumans. You can’t do everything. Enjoy the time you have. Take a nap. Rest and recharge, and then hit the parks hard in the later and cooler parts of the day.

Just Relax

This one is right in line with our first point about taking your time. It bears repeating. You’re in such a magical place, you owe it to yourself to just smell the roses and have a great time.

Flower and Garden

You said as much here:

  • “RELAX you’re on vacation!!! oops, that’s my advice 🙂”
  • “Relax and enjoy, you can’t do everything!”
  • “Relax, enjoy the sounds, smells and details…..always look up…..if you don’t see and do everything in one day, you can always re-visit the park again”
  • “Relax and set realistic expectations/goals”
Butterfly Landing

That last one is the kicker. Make sure to set realistic expectations and goals. That’s going to be huge in helping you relax while you’re at Disney World (and maybe don’t try to hit up all four parks in a single day).

Focus On Your Trip And Your Trip Alone

This one perhaps just might be the most important tip of them all. Remember that this is YOUR trip, your vacation. There’s no need to try and keep up with the Joneses or do things you’d never try to do. Just focus on being yourself and remember:

  • “Your perfect Disney trip is not the same as someone else’s..”

That was so beautifully said. Give yourself permission to experience Disney World in a way that makes sense for you. You’ll have a much better time that way!
