Disney World rarely has big emergencies that affect large groups of people.
But it can and does happen that rides will shut down and people will have to be walked off a ride. Today, February 27th, an entire area inside EPCOT has been evacuated.
UPDATE: The Land is now reopened, and guests can enjoy the rides and experiences inside.
The Land pavilion in EPCOT is a building that includes a counter service restaurant, table service restaurant, two rides, and other attractions. Now, we have recently learned that the building has been evacuated.

According to our reporter, the fire alarms in the building began going off, prompting the evacuation of guests and Cast Members. The Cast Members at the pavilion said it was not a drill and they are taking it very seriously.
Everyone who had Lightning Lanes and was evacuated is receiving experience redemptions (basically a free, anytime Lightning Lane). At this time, the Cast Members aren’t sharing any other information about what happened. We’ll update you as we learn more.
